Haven't some of the goblins in Jim C. Hines's Goblin trilogy lost all their teeth?

(By the way, that series is recommended reading for anybody who likes old-fashioned dungeons.)

Goblin with no teeth for sure. Nothing a good dentist couldn't fix. If people can make Obsidian Dogs, teeth shouldn't be a challenge. Plus baby food is delicious!

But no fingers... on those long, cold lonely nights. You're going to feel the loss, hooks just don't cut it... ouch, oh... yes they do.

Escaping the Daily Grind

Having fingers means you can work a meatgrinder.

And with trapsmithing, you can build a much, much larger one.

Whomever it was that took your teeth - that's the fellow chained by the throat to the treadmill that drives the big meatgrinder.

When the PCs get captured.. and chained.. they have someone to talk to. He's really quite interested in leaving.. highly motivated.
