It used to be the case that anyone using infravision or ultravision was blinded for a round when regular light was kindled.

You aren't the only one... but, having gotten to play with some seriously potent thermal imaging cameras (both times, military grade cameras), foot prints don't last long. A few seconds, definitely single digits.
