These athletes train their whole lives to compete, and apparently what really matters is how "hot" they are. Way to show respect.
The article did say that she failed to qualify for the finals, so they sent her home instead of letting her stay like all the other athletes from other countries. Maybe it also has something to do with the 300,000 condoms they have at the village.

Since they're blaming her for distracting her teammates, it's pretty much your run-of-the-mill sexism of the same type that hits girls harder with school dress codes than the boys. Blame her rather than him for him being distracted.

A lot of the reporting on this looks a bit sensational (the articles themselves are often the ones mentioning her appearance but the official statement from the Paraguayan official didn't say anything about that). It is possible that it was that. this is mostly coming from the Daily Mail and TMZ and there seems to be a bit of editorializing in the reporting itself. I am curious what the case actually is. I could see a situation where someone who has already been disqualified and continues socializing with athletes could be an issue if it reduces their focus on the competition. You do want the team to be focused on the events. If the issue was she just looks good in a bathing suit, then yeah, I agree it is very stupid to kick her out. If it was more involved than that, like there was actual romantic drama going on or other issues that was taking away from the other athlete's focus, that might be a different story. One thing I have learned in the past month with the olympics is wait for all the facts to come in before getting forming an opinion

Does anyone know the easiest way to watch specific events live online without a subscriptions service to any platforms?

I just saw skeet shooting on You Tube, never would have seen that on regular TV. Not sure when it actually was scheduled. Watching on cable has 2-3 channels but never sure what I'm getting.

I'm sure youtube has something.

That said, if you can spare the $7.99, I will recommend signing up for Peacock for a month. It's easy to unsubscribe, and you can watch absolutely everything live, and everything you have missed you can watch in the archives- it's all sorted by sport, etc.

It's a lot less than the cost of a movie ticket, and it's worth it (IMO).

(Otherwise, you can use a VPN to see coverage of international broadcasters, but I truly believe that it's worth the money to do this right given how much better the coverage is on Peacock and how easy it is to find events.)

Discovery+ in the UK has lots channels if subscribed.

Eurosport has 2 channels

The BBC clearly has nothing exclusive and tends to run somewhat behind for some events.

May have to rely on youtube (the VPN isn't a bad idea either). I am sort of tapped out on streaming subscriptions now (my wife takes a hard line on them and I just used up all my capital on a Shout! Factory TV subscription). My main goal now is to catch the TKD matches tomorrow when they air (or at least catch the weight divisions that air at a reasonable time as I know many are taking place around 3 am).
