So .... I have now seen Breaking as an Olympic competition.

Have to say, I am mightily impressed! It is certainly a lot better than some other things that they have, like dancing horses and golf.

Hats off to all the B-Boys and B-Girls that are bringing it! And while the Australian competitor (Raygunn?) was outmatched, no need for hate. She got up there and did it, which is more than most. Also, I think she is at a disadvantage, since I have it on good authority that gravity works differently down there.
I enjoyed what I saw- only the medal rounds, unfortunately- and IMHO, the competition on the Men’s side was of higher overall quality than on the Women’s side.

Part of that is merely personal preferences, but there were certain moves that I’ve seen in competitions on YouTube that were entirely absent from the Olympic performances. In fairness, though, some of that was probably due to safety concerns and the materials used to construct the dance arena.

I don’t remember there being head slides and suicides, for instance.

Stiil, it was good enough on both sides that I’m optimistic about breaking’s Olympic future. A bit more publicity; more competition from the rest of the world will almost HAVE to increase just by force of sheer numbers. That’s probably The Plan…

Baseball? I didnt think enough countries played Baseball to qualify, obviously I was wrong

and what even is Flag Football? is it Touch Rugby? some variant of Soccer? a strange American thing?

and a day of cricket is more boring than golf

obstacle racing makes me happy though...

It's touch NFL.

Cricket has some great one day formats

Baseball is the world's dullest game.

What the chunks is an obstacle race. Sack and egg and spoon race coming soon

Other new ones for Brisbane 2032, and I'm sure D&D will make for 2036.

The IOC's head of Olympic broadcasting, Yiannis Exarchos, said LA “cannot redo a city (Paris) with a history of 500 years. LA speaks about the future, about new frontiers, about technology."

What?

Did anyone see the Australian Breaking news regarding Rachael Gunn aka B-girl Raygun, who pulled out some unique moves like kangaroo hopping and swimming on the ground to earn Zero points.

it was a bizarre performance and seemed to be a deliberate parody by the 36 yr old white woman doing her PHD in 'Dance and gender politics' - so was it Breaking or Performance art?
