Take one Couatl (female),
Advance it to max HD,
Add the Half-Dragon (gold) template (changing its HD to D12s, it remains an outsider though.)

oooh, brilliant (no pun intended) idea! :) i will try to write up a paragraph today. any reason why she would hate mind flayers so much, other than the fact that omata does?

Why Xiraquatl hates mindflayers (condensed):
Her Mother (A couatl) got eaten by a Neotelid
Her Father (A Gold Dragon) was killed by mindflayer wizards.

Xiraqualt's additional powers:

Breathweapon is useable once every 1d4 rounds, rather than once per day.

She has two clawed hands on arms, allowing her to wield staffs, wands, and rods.

She gains the following Psionic abilities in addition to those she has innately: Whitefire 3/day; Negate Psionics 3/day; Polymorph Self 1/day; and Null Psionics Field 1/day.

Sounds good?

sure. :) are these powers from the PsiHB?

Edit: here's an important question (to everyone, opinions please): should Xira be Omata's consort?

Edit Edit: something i thought about: since mind flayers are not/may not be OGL anymore, if Omata were to ever be published, all non-OGL content would have to be edited out. perhaps in the future, we can rewrite a second printable version, but the one we've worked out here will always be "ours". :)

The powers are from the PsiHB. first one deals 5d4 fire damage in a 20' radius burst. The second one works as dispel magic against psionics (if psionics are different rules are used, otherwise it's just a dispel magic with another name ;)), Polymorph Self is exactly like it's magical counterpart, and Null Psionics Field works like Antimagic Field.

About the consort thing, either way is fine by me.

Also, I have a feeling that the Mind Flayer/Illithid (and the beholder Btw) will return to the SDR with the release of 3.5 (unless of course they have been removed from the new MM, something I find highly unlikely).

Later,

just to keep things simple, how about if i just use antimagic field, dispel magic, fireball, and polymorph self? :)

any other comments from any regarding any of the stats for Xira?

I have been looking through the MM. I think that the unnamed "awakened" water elemental should have following...

Elder Water Elemental
Spellcasting as 20 th. level cleric?
Domains: Good & Water
Extraordinary ability to create water at will (called "Spreading the Bounty"), instead of having to use spells to do so.

Alignment: NG

Name: Seshiirish sound good?

The personality would probably be rather pacifistic compared to most mighty creatures. She left the Elemental Plane of Water to pursue Omata, having been influenced by his goodnes. Yet, conflict is something she is not used to at all, being a creature of the elements.
I was thinking that she might have been a rare Water Elemental that grew sentient over the decades in the Elemental Plane (something thats not normal). As another rare occurence, she grew good (as opposed to arch-typical elemental neutrality).

Of the followers of Omata, Seshiirish might be the one that most seldomly converses with him. Instead, she travels outskirts of civilisation, seeking those in need. You might say that she even is a little bit mistaken and only has taken upon herself a certain aspect of Omata, not his entire belief...

Prisma is a 5'0 half elf with purple and eyes
Alignment: LG
Personality: Prisma Brightheart is a psionic prodigy who travels the outer planes recruiting other inthe fight ageinst the mind flayers and unlocking the psionic powers of others

Drax is a 6'0 human with brown hair and eyes and covered with tatoos
Alignment: LG
Personality: Drax serves as Omata holy champion and head teach of his fighters

here's a standard elder water elemental:

Huge Elemental (Water)
Hit Dice: 24d8+120 (228 hp)
Initiative: +6 (Dex)
Speed: 20 ft, swim 90 ft
AC: 23 (-2 size, +6 Dex, +9 natural)
Attacks: Slam +25/+20/+15/+10 melee
Damage: Slam 2d10+13
Face/Reach: 10 ft by 5 ft/ 15ft
Special Attacks: Water mastery, drench, vortex
Special Qualities: Elemental, damage reduction 15/+3, fire immunity
Saves: Fort +19, Ref +14, Will +8
Abilities: Str 28, Dex 22, Con 21, Int 6, Wis 11, Cha 11
Skills: Listen +26, Spot +26
Feats: Cleave, Great Cleave, Improved Critical (slam), Power Attack, Sunder

Climate/Terrain: Any land and underground
Organization: Solitary
Challenge Rating: 11
Treasure: None
Alignment: Usually neutral (our baby is NG)
Advancement: 25+ HD (Huge)

So, you also want to give her spellcasting abilities as a 20th-level cleric, with the domains of Good and Water? Also the (Ex) ability to create water at will (called "Spreading the Bounty")
Anything else you want to do with her? It sounded like you want to increase her Intelligence at least.
Anyone else have ideas for Seshiirish?
