[OOC] Child of the Mourn

So he's got 610 gold to play with, and the Crystal of Lifedrinking is not altogether necessary. For some reason I thought healing would be an issue, but with the belt and with his ability to CLW 3/day he should be covered. So, potentially he's in life for 1100 gold. That's a slew of equipment he could purchase. I'll have to get some standard things, put in 100 or so for PHB goodies, ie: soap, crowbar, grappling hook, etc that he can store in a safe locale (ie. safe house possibly), but maybe I could take a look at some of the hidden compartment ideas I saw in one of the complete books (I think Adventurer). I should buy him a bow too, probably a shortbow just to give him something extra to work with. Outfits wouldn't be a bad idea, nobles to adventuring to peasant. I need to look in the ECS to see what equipment they've got sitting around and whether that's pertinent to Oarsen.

Maybe his kid brother and family was killed in an unprovoked attack by a Cyrian warforged unit. Could be some of his motivation for enlisting.

Supplies

Perhaps potions and scrolls would be a good idea as well as a small supply of Dreamlily. I think the Dark Latern PrC write up has special prices for potions. You may also want to buy a MW Bow and maybe a dagger, and perhaps some master work writing (artisan) tools. How about a Magebred mount of sorts?

That's about all that I can think of. :)

Magebred would be smart, I would think, and definitely handy for travelling out of the Mournland, but that's neither here nor there. I was actually thinking of obtaining a spellbook for his journal, something very private. In actual gameplay terms, I want him to be a journaler, keeping copious notes on activities and happenings. He mostly does this for his spy purposes, but also, it could help him if he ever does decide to write about this. But yes, a MW ranged weapon, maybe a hidden arm dagger, high quality artisan tools, and a mount I think are all vital. Potions would be smart, I'll have to look over the PrC again, see how much I can allocate for potion buying and what is needed.

So I think I might take Quick Reconnoiter and Improved Initiative. I was considering Extra Music and then a bardic music feat, but I kinda like having a +10 to Initiative and the free action to listen and spot.

I also counted 110 in skills, before I did the adjustment to Survival. So I might take 4 off of something and add 2 into Survival, or 2 off of two skills and do the same.

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and weekend! :)

How goes the character building and history writing? :)

Well have fun. I'll be working while it rains and is cold while you're out vacationing. Things are going well and I see no reason why a detailed background can't be completed by your return.

I'm back and a little more tan...

Hows the history and stuff going?
I hav a crazy amount of stuff to catch up on at work so it will not be until later this week that we could get started.

:)

I also have been running around crazily, I moved last week and didn't have internet until right now. The history is going swimmingly, hopefully I'll have it all typed up in here by the end of the weekend.
