Juno's got combat martial arts and brawl already. She's worrying her family with talk of doing MMA for a living.
Hey, maybe you can teach me! You know, after the pressing need becomes apparent. It won't be for a while that I can pick up any advanced combat feats.
Nice thing about this system is how much development you do level-to-level, between skill ranks and all the feats, bonus feats, and class feature options. I feel like I can pick up or refine a character focus at a later level and still have it work out.
Role-wise, I envisioned Francis being good at noticing (by hearing, or smelling, at least) baddies and tracking them down, and having the defenses to survive if they catch on to her. I could improve her Spot and Search later on, and/or Move Silently and Hide to be more of a spy. Maybe also Knowledge (arcane) to represent her growing knowledge of folk remedies and "cryptids"; Sense Motive to notice things disguised as human would have a similar effect. Maybe theology/philosophy, but mostly theology, if it has any relevance to the things we're facing.
In combat she's mostly defensive, but can pick up a lot of offense later on with weapon finesse, two-weapon fighting, etc. I'd kind of like her to be a non-combat specialist though, clearly able to defend herself but reluctant to fight...except when she's "not feeling like herself"... ψ(`∇´)ψ
Edit: joining a sports team would leave Tasha out I think, so it wouldn't be my first choice. (Though I vote baseball, then volleyball, then roller derby. Are co-ed sports teams a thing there?) I was also thinking...I don't know how club formation works exactly, but maybe Juno and Francis start a club to hide gang-related activities, naming it something no high school student would ever join, like "Finance Law Club," which Owen joins because he needs extracurriculars and it sounded like nap time, and Tasha joins because she's actually interested in whatever it is. (Or, something.) And Janice could come by because her sister would
never join something like that so it must be a ruse. Then bang, we're all in one room, and we either become the Breakfast Club or something's breakfast.
Oh, we could call it the Breakfast Club. Or the Scooby Club.
