[OOC] The Missing Warlock [4e, closed]

Covaithe,

Have just spoken on the other thread...I'm thinking that both my skills in insight and nature may yield some mundane or other ideas re the rock if we can get a look at it. I've suggested a line of thinking that your Rogue might wish to adopt to try and engage with Elloen re getting the rock.

Okay. I finally got some time to rewrite a synopsis of Moreen's history. It doesn't include her years as a cleric. Does this fit with the campaign?

[sblock=Background]The cursed artifact lay shattered at Moreen's feet, who stood only with the help of her holy staff and the last of her remaining will. In her exhaustion, she couldn't feel the shadow that enveloped her soul, cut off her divine connection, and was crushing down to consume her. A more physical darkness crept into her vision. Her body numb, she was unaware of collapsing onto the stone floor.

It has been nearly a year since that night. After weeks of prayer and restless nights of nightmares and cold sweats, Moreen resolved to put her loss behind her. She sought training as a paladin in her church. The first few days in the practice yard were the hardest, not because of the physical strain she was unused to, but because of the doubting looks of her trainers and fellow students. She would catch them from time to time, shaking their head or whispering to each other as she swung at the swordmaster who mearly toyed with her.

But as the weeks went on, her training became her new holy rituals. It gave her the focus and will to recover. After two seasons, like dying embers catching a fresh breath of air and sparking back to life, Moreen pierced the corruption staining her soul. What was once the blinding light of Erathis's grace was now only a candle that a passing breeze could snuff out. But it flowed into Moreen's heart and through to her arms, granting her divine strength and righteous fury.

It was only a few months later that the senior paladin training her declared that what she now needed was not countless hours swinging a sword, but to take to the road again to find herself. Thus Moreen was anointed a paladin of Erathis in a tearful ceremony attended only by her peers. They gifted Moreen with a suit of custom made dwarven forged armor, a sword and shield in honor of her remarkable recovery.

Later, Moreen found herself in a village as hordes of undead fell upon it. She drew her sword and charged into the storm of battle, hoping to buy time for at least a few villagers to escape the destruction. Unfortunately, Moreen and her current companions were among the only survivors. Villagers who she had passed and greeted only an hour before now stared lifelessly at the paladin who couldn't save them. Since then, Moreen has followed the rest of the survivors, hoping to eventually find the one responsible for the undead attack.[/sblock]

Looks good!

Thanks - good stuff.

So sorry

Checked the board this morning and it didn't update... I thought I was waiting on all of you guys.

But it appears I was wrong, posting on the other thread right now!

Hey guys, just to let you know, one of my good friends from high school is in town for 2.5 weeks. There may be some weekdays where I'll fail to post, but I'll still be around. =)

Those darned hounds

Dang, these guys are tougher than I thought they would be. FYI, they are technically lvl 3 monsters, but they seem a bit overpowered to me... Thoughts?

Nah. We're having trouble because 1) we split up and got isolated, thinking there were just 2 when they hadn't all showed up yet, and 2) we're trying to keep Mardrick alive. Without those things, we'd be doing much better.
