I have always played bless that it affects any kind of check. Attack, save, ability check. I don't know if this was a houserule I picked up in 3e or if it was RAW in some edition...but it has always just made sense to me. Bless is a prayer intnded to give the subject a little extra luck. I'd like to stick with that. But before we do...is there someother low level cleric spell that gives an edge to ability checks? I don't want bless to overlap other spells that are already intended to do something similar.
