hong you rapscallion. Take a laugh point.

Yes, quite.

The dislike of RPG.net evidenced in this thread is a little sad however. Just to choose one example:

(Sorry, it's petty of me, but I can't help but enjoy when they go down, even temporarily)

Why? I've never seen any gloating about ENWorld's problems over there.

Not ENWorld, but d20 and d20 players, as a rule. They've even gone so far as to ghettoize the d20 games, cutting the discussion on them significantly by exiling them to a separate forum. The sheer amount of d20 hate on RPG.Net is fairly sickening, to be honest.

I for one am always happy to see RPG.net folk over here. They've been gracious about letting us post about our board problems many, many times in the past.

They? You didn't read the thread in Trouble Tickets about how many of the users hated the idea and want it remerged with TTO? Shannon (and I guess Allan and other skotos employees) were the ones that made the decision.

And I couldn't care. Clicking an extra link doesn't take that much effort or time.

I have seen 1 comment there, in the past, that trashed this place. The reverse is much larger- 2 or 3 whole threads.

The RPG.Net admins are a whole 'nother kettle of fish, aside from a sizeable portion of the users...and it's the users that I object to. Hell, before the crash, there was a lovely thread about how badly Star Wars Saga Edition sucked, simply because d20 is, somehow an 'system for immature players'. The anti-d20 crowd there wears its colors proudly.

Thankfully, those who aren't in that particular clique come here...and those that are stay well away.

Ha, ha! Ironically enough, I was posting on why I thought a separate d20 forum was okay by me when rpg.net went down. I've actually enjoyed having a separate forum for d20 because it was kind of discouraging that seemingly every d20 thread got crapped on by haters. The d20 forum's tone seemed really...nice for a change. Which is not to say that thread-crapping wasn't going on with other games too, but there seemed to be an especially high level of nastiness directed at D&D. Maybe I'm too sensitive on that, which is odd, because my bookshelf is about half d20, half other games, so I'm not really a d20 exclusive kind of guy.

The D20 forum isn't a "ghetto", it's an effort to increase D20 discussion at RPG.net. Whether or not it is working is another question, but that's the stated goal.

I'm with the folks objecting that state that it isn't working. 'Course, I have no say there now, but last I checked I hadn't been blocked from browsing the site.
