OotS 631!

Nyeshet

First Post
It has arrived!

Somehow I'm not surprised hell is involved in these types of offers . . .

OotS #631

I can't say I didn't see this coming, but I must admit there were a few surprises - such as
the fact his children are adopted and that hell has apparently had their eye on him for quite a while.

So I'm now more convinced the 4 words that lead to ultimate arcane power (prophesied by the oracle) were 'Disintegrate. Gust of wind. '

It got rid of Kubota- who deserved to die, but V didn't know that- hence 'all the wrong reasons'. This led to V fleeing the fleet, ending up on the island- and about to enter into a contract for super magics. It also released the imp from serving Kubota, opening up it up for contracting with V.

I accept your offer. I cannot fail again. etc. all work- but their words that would seem to be said for the right reason (that is- to save V's kids).

Yup, I agree.

Part of the prophecy is that the words are spoken "to the right person". Spellcasting is not spoken TO anyone.

Can't say I agree. If a spell is directed toward a particular, specific person (and both of these were), then I think it's entirely reasonable to say the spell-words were spoken "to" that person. (Although I guess one could complain that Kubota isn't technically a person any more by the time Vaarsuvius says "Gust of Wind...")

Did V just received an Infernal Credit Card?? Man those interests rates must be a bitch.

Also note this is not the contract Quar was talking about even he said "thats weird" and "not exactly" when referring to the envelope... maybe the implementation of taint? OotS will be using Book of Vile Darkness now? :p
