OotS 654

This is precisely the kind of strip that Burlew randomly pops up with that keeps me coming back again and again and again. This was one of the rare ones that was full of awesome and win from panel to panel, word to word. Each character filled with so much detail and truth and integrity to form, so much wit yet so much drama in so few words and drawn lines.

This is one of the strips that I will revisit in the future, if ever I doubt again that Rich Burlew is a comic god.

He's a neat paladin, but he's still getting himself killed in a lawful stupid way.

(I suspect he'll save V and escape, but he doesn't know that, now does he?)

I think this unfair. What's his other option? Run naked through the ruins of Azure City and hook up with the resistance he doesn't know exists? Endure more daily torture until by they kill him?

O-Chul is doing the correct thing. He may swing the battle if he redeems MitD (does anyone else remember the 'hit as lightly as you can' game he played with Miko and subsequently punched her through a stone wall?) which is far more than he'd ever accomplish on his own.

It would be particularly humorous if he survives and escapes with V. This would probably put the last nail in the coffin of hi/r self-respect, as s/he would forever bear the knowledge that in the end, despite Ultimate Arcane Power, s/he failed where a naked paladin did not.

O-Chul kicks ass!

And he killed one of the cockroaches too, excellent.

It's doesn't matter how slim his chances may be, I'm rooting for him. He's the one paladin from Azure City that's likeable.

hmmm... too soon to reveal the monster yet i think. The paladin will probably distract Xykon enough to allow V to escape but will then get himself horribly killed. This should upset the mitd enough so that he escapes to wonder alone and confused for awhile.
