No Orcs in my homebrew at all, so I don't care.

And just a minor nitpick, but in the 3.0 MM, Orcs are listed as "usually Chaotic Evil", and in the 3.5 MM, "often Chaotic Evil". So, there is still room for your Lawful Evil Orcs, even by the book.

Does anyone remember that orcs in 1E and 2E used to be "lawful evil". They used to march in regimented order, barking military drills, and wearing grim expressions under their cold iron helms.

Now they are "chaotic". They are a wild horde of rampaging barbarians. Now, I can understand from a game mechanics point-of-view why WotC made them CE -- they wanted the half-orc to have a "favoured" class (or vice versa).

Dead, don't fret. You can change the alignment of your Orcs back to lawful evil. It's not like the end of the world or anything.

No, no, no! You can't change orcs' alignment! I heard Gary Gygax and Peter Adkison were going to be going from game to game, taking a monster census -- if they find out your orcs aren't often (or at least usually) Chaotic Evil, they'll revoke your license to play D&D!!!!!!!!

Orcs nothing, what about the dark elves? Back in the day, drow were the epitome of chaotic evil...now they're neutral evil?? I just don't see why some of these changes took place.

Probably because everyone was teed off by R.A. interpretation and the fact a most CE race now has fragmented into goth terriorioty. This is another reason I like our Dark Elves (SL Dark Elves). They are LE and they enjoy mechs (well constructs but still!)

Anyway about orcs being chaotic, so freaking what? I'm still irate that FR can't make up it's damn mind even if I can. Orcus is a god. Therefore Orcus will cream Kiaranselee

It's extremely weird for Drow and Halflings since their gods haven't changed alignment.
Drow clerics are only just within the one step rule of Lolth and Halflings need to change alignment at least one step (to NG or LG) to be clerics of Yondalla.
