What happened to France.....

Always the same. When we have a strong team we feel so confident (and often arrogant unfortunately) that we don't want to see what is wrong.

Roger Lemerre (coach) was unable to manage the team like Jacquet (the last coach).

I m happy because it is a lesson we will not forget soon. And maybe next time we will play football.....:-)

anyway congratulations to Denmark and Senegal .....

Yes what a wonderful game it was. The game between Uruguay and Senegal was weird though - both penalties were clear dives that should have granted each of the strikers a yellow card for their disgraceful behaviour. And in the dying minutes Uruguay missed what must be the biggest chance I've ever seen. I pity them - but Senegal are an interesting (if overly brutal) side - I'll look forward to seeing how they progress from here.

Btw, Cameroun-Germany 0-2 (16 cards!!!). Cameroun should have been 3-0 up at the break - boy these guys seriously need shooting practice....

Congrats to Ireland and Senegal. ESPECIALLY SENEGAL. They come into their first world cup and have to play the defending champs. THEY WIN and make it into teh second round. CONGRATS!!! GO USA!!!!!!

It's just a pity that Cameroon didn't dispose of Germany (a bit of English prejudice, there - sorry, all you nice German people out there). That was a bit of a nasty game - 16 yellow cards. I was surprised the Cameroonians sent on Suffo into such an atmosphere - the guy's a headcase. He was involved in the fiasco of a match a few months ago when Sheffield Wednesday had so many people sent off or (allegedly) injured the game had to be abandoned; Suffo was red carded for head butting within a few minutes of coming on. When I saw his name come up, I said he'd get sent off again. And he was

Well, tomorrow England will know our fate. Good luck, Sweden too, and not just for selfish reasons (though Sweden taking points off Argentina would help ensure England's qualification).

At the end of the first half, I wpuldn't have given anything for a German win, but Cameroun came back totally off their feet.
Germany scoring a nice goal and then going for total defense, finally closing it with the second goal.

Cameroun had the chance to kick us out - they lost the match themselves, not our forceful play.

Well, but now it's time for Germany to win it all!

Final: Germany - England 4:0 :D

Congrats to Denmark and Senegal, btw! (And Ireland)

Everything is ready for a rematch quarter-final between Denmark and Brazil if they can make it through the last 16. How I would cherish a revanche for the bitter and unlucky 3-2 defeat in 1998 :D...

You should point out, if Brazil can make the quater-final ...

If so, the time for revenge is near ...
