I realize that this really belongs in the software forum, but I'm posting it here because I don't think the software forum gets a whole lot of traffic, and there were plenty of people who complained about Ad-Aware being out of date in the "Are you being tracked online?" thread a while ago. So here it is:

Thanks for the tip - I didn't realize there was a newer version out.

BTW, I already have version 5 installed. Do you know if Lavasoft has a patch to bring this up to the latest version, or do I have to download and install the full version? If I do download the full version, do you know if I should uninstall verion 5 before installing version 6?

AFAIK there isn't any patch.

The full version is only 1.45 mb, it shouldn't be a problem to download.

When I tried to install the new version with 5 still installed it didn't work (i don't know if that had anything to do with still having v5 though). After having unnecessary trouble downloading another copy of v6 I ended up deleting the entire contents of my Lavasoft folder in frustration. After that I was able to download and properly install version 6. So...go ahead and try it with 5 still installed, but if it doesn't work uninstall it.
