[OT] Hockey Fever: The NHL Playoffs Thread Part II

Well, if it does turn out to be Avs and Wing (Red Wings Suck! ), then I'd like to ask the NHL to make it something like the best of 9, or maybe best of 13. That will be a great series, as the two teams just don't like each other, and it has been too long since they have played. Go Avs!

Best of 13 yeah it would be great to watch but I don't think the players would survive it.Ha! These teams hate each other with a certain passion that transends most rivalrys.

Any way they have to get past San Jose and St Loius first and somehow I don't think these teams are just going to lay down and die so the Wings and Av's can rip each other to sheds but I do expect both teams to make it to the third round and I expect My Wings to go on and Win the Cup.

Several brief remarks before I logoff for the evening:

1) Sorry about questioning which province is home to Ottawa .
2) I'm telling you all right now, the Sharks will beat the Avs.
3) As I've stated twice previously, the Leafs will win a close game tonight...thus setting up the all-Ontario semi final with the aforementioned team from Ottawa.
4) Perhaps I shouldn't snicker at the 'Canes, but it's doggone hard not to!! I just don't see Irbe or Weekes being able to match Theodore, and there's no contest between Montreal and Carolina when it comes to firepower.
5) The neutral zone trap makes a hockey game seem like you're watching a particularly bad soccer match -- no goals, and lots of tangled up bodies.

I cannot echo this enough. And not just because I bleed teal. Beware the Sharks. The West Coast teams get very little press across the NHL; this is a very dangerous team.

Should be a fantastic series though.

Carolina is a couple years away from being a scary team. They have a lot of great young guys.

The Devils didn't play all that well. The Canes outworked them for sure.

But the Habs are on fire. And as long as they continue to burn, they can beat the Hurricanes, and more easily than Boston, I think.

Toronto, as much as I hate to admit it, could probably stop the Habs. The Sens would be a good series.

Whoever comes out of the West *cough*wings*cough* will almost definitely win the cup.

Until Bobby Clark finds a soul, Philly's got troubles. The coaching ain't the problem, it's Clark. Trust us Toronto fans on this. What he did with Lindros was evil.

What's done is done though and I'd grab Ted Nolan for the rough and ready Flyers.

LEAFS ROCK! I've got a bad feeling against the Sens though. We're battered, and they've had time to rest. Plus, just how many a$$-whoopings can this team take before they finally get mad at us and show up. Gonna be a goody!

As hard as this may sound the Sens-Flyers match up was the battle of the choke artists and Philly just choked first and harder.

The Sens have never shown up for the playoffs and I doubt that anything will change this year.
