I've just returned home from my afternoon at the JLA...and what an enjoyable afternoon it's been!! The Wings outplayed St. Louis in every facet of the game today, and Hasek was spectacular when he needed to be. I love Detroit playoff hockey

Keep watching, since I feel pretty good about my predictions thus far. Then again, I'd happily be wrong about everything I've said thus far and going forward, if that would garner Detroit another Stanley Cup.

I'm surprised also, although I thought Weekes looked pretty solid in net. Still, it's surprising to me how well carolina is bottling up the opposition.

Good point about the ratings, and I'm starting to agree with you regarding Ottawa -- they seem to have gotten the monkey off their back. Tonight will be a very telling game, though.

I didn't think Yashin played poorly against Toronto at all. It's just that his teams seem to be snakebit when it comes to playoff success. That may not be his fault per se, but that won't stop me from poking a little of fun at the situation

hum.... my beloved Canadiens have lost.... 
I think that we dont put enought emotion in this game. It's hard, because the Hurricanes is not a real team. The Bruins was a real team. I hope that with this first game, the CH will have understand, and play hockey. in the next game !

Well........I did make that prediction BEFORE StL lost the second game.
And I seriously doubt that Detroit will sweep StL. I fully expect the series to go at least 6 games. Plus, even if Detroit takes the series, they'll be too feeble with aged exhaustion to be a problem for the next team (or next two teams, heaven forbid) that they face.

I watched the 2nd and 3rd, then went to do some other things. About two hours I was wondering who won and turned it back on - just in time to see the last few minutes of the 2nd overtime. Got to love playoff hockey.
And in other news AVS win 8-2 over San Jose. I guess a first game loss was what they needed, along with a little rest. Should be a great series.

QuickBeam-yes I enjoyed the game immensly. GO WINGS!!!
Acmite-The Core of the team being Fedorov,Shanahan,and Lidstrom are only 32 years they alone can drive this team.Yzerman,Hull Robitaille,And Hasek are about 37 which is hardly ancient and chelios and Larionov are spectacular at 40.Chelios could win the Norris trophy.The rest of the team are in their 20's such as Datysuk a rising young star.
More seriously however I just can't see a rookie goaltender no matter how good standing up to Detriot's firepower.
I find it interesting that you picked chicago to beat The Blues and now you are picking the blues to make it to the finals?
Yes I know Detroit is the team everyone loves to hate because of the money spent on them.But that money comes from devoted fans that spend $140 US dollars to go see a playoff game.From a team that has a lengthy list for season tickets.
And you have to remeber also that Yzerman,Fedorov,and Lidstrom have never played for any other teams.
