[OT] Hockey Fever: The NHL Playoffs Thread

Unfortunately, judging by the adulatory tone of the announcers on last night's Canucks/Wings game, not only are the Wings "going", they're the only team on the ice of any consequence whatsoever. You'd have thought they'd already won the damn cup.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to notice, I think tommorrow I'll be listening to Shorthouse and Larschied (homer that he is). Too bad Hughson isn't doing HNIC.

On another note for us who get the CBC, are those Labatt Blue ads with the guy in the clothing store great or what?! It's like the Super Bowl but the ads keep coming over 3 months

Go CANUCKS!!!!

Speaking of announcer... the Montreal Canadien make the playoff for the first time in four years, and the announcer of the SRC (CBC in french) are on strike. It's sad, very sad. We still have the radio, but it's not the same thing. These big companies and trade union have no respect for us, the fan.

Money rules, and this suck.

In a more happy tone, Ottawa win :)

I have a question, for the Canucks fan: What mean Canuck ? I'ts not in my English-French dictionnary.

Third game Montreal-Boston tomorrow.... coooool :D

I predict a fantastic performance of Théodore. And wath out the crowd !!!!

Go Habs Go !!!!!

Avs lost, as I had a feeling they would. The Kings were just too good of a team to lose 3 in a row. I'd be willing to bet that Kings win next game also. I had a feeling that the game would get ugly, and unfortunately I was right. Next game will be interesting, I think Kerry Frazer will tighten up quite a bit, like he did during the 3rd period. He called 3 penalties in the span of 8 minutes in the 3rd (though truthfully Foote should have been called on the breakaway), after he only called one in the 2 periods before.

I would expect more checking tomorrow night, but a lot more penalties as well. Special teams will probably win the game tomorrow.

Still waiting to see if the Flyers will win this one. I thought for sure, (at least watching the first period, went gaming afterwards) they would at least score ONE freaking goal. God help them get one more Or even FOUR.

If only they would play more like the Sixers (i.e. hard and with at least a little heart). A new GM wouldn't hurt either.

"We can--nay, we MUST--win tonight's game...so that my bid to RULE THE MULTIVERSE shall be confirmed! Ha ha ha ha aha!!!"

Just happy to see that the teams that are trying to buy the cup aren't going undefeated in their playoff series'. It's good that teams with less money like the Canadians and the Canucks are doing well.

Another victory for the Canadiens.....

...... fourteen more and..... :D

I hope that Toronto will rapidly forgot this defeat.

I totally agree. In the playoff, it's not a matter of cash, i'ts a matter of heart.

It's so great in Montreal, when the Canadiens win... the city seem more happy... and me too :)
