[OT] How can I live without sleep? (Help me P-kitty!)

How's your stress level, Ash? Stress can really impact sleep, so if your stress level is higher than you'd like, start thinking about ways to cut that stress level.

an afternoon nap of about 20-30 mins at 3:00 does wonders for me. It got me through college.

Eating better would be another thing. eat less meats, more oats and fiber.

Last thing i can think of is CUT DOWN ON YOUR POSTING.... hELL- IF YOU CAN HARDLY FIND ENOUGH TIME TO SLEEP- WHY ARE YOU SPENDING HOURS HERE READING OTHER PEOPLE'S POSTS AND ANSWERING THEIR PROBLEMS...

and i am surprised the CAT is not here yet...

WoW only 5 to 6 hours, that alot! i average 3 to 4 and i am able to keep going! i work full time and go to school full time, along with friends, and DnD. so i have no clue! sorry

I just saw this! One thing is for sure; the average person needs 7-8 hours to get by with no health or emotional side effects. You're really under that, so you're much more likely to get sick and have trouble dealing with stress. Any irritability? In addition, you're putting yourself at tremendous risk when you drive, because your chance of falling asleep with your eyes open ("microsleeps") rises dramatically when you're sleep deprived.

Good advice from Dr. Rictus, above. And Psionicist, don't fret; at your age, you actually need substantially more sleep than you will once you're into your late teens/early 20's. That's normal.

More tomorrow. Ironically enough, I'm on my way to bed. :)

See a shrink. The first thing to go, when you're feeling stressed or whatever, is sleep. Talking to a professional usually helps. I see a shrink and it has done wonders for me over the years.

ADD/ADHD has sleeping side effects? I have the blasted condition and i didnt even know that! What effect does being ADD have on sleep? I know that i can run on anywhere from 6 to 4 hours of sleep in the right conditons.

P.S. Meditation does wonders for the body. I would reccomend it.

Well....lets see.

I'm 22.
Married only 5 months ago.
Have migrains
My wife has migrains
Recently discovered I have a prostate infection.
Wife was just in a car wreck that totaled the car.
Insurence company was a joke. Had to get a lawyer.
Had to take care of wife. It was two weeks before she could get out of bed by herself.
Other woman had no insurence.
Wife has got a bladder infection. (And its that time of the month.)
Stress at work (where I am posting from) is getting worse.

On top of all that, I have the normal newly wed issues.

On the positive side, I got almost 8 hours last night, and I feel quiet a bit better.

Piratecat -> I know what you mean about the "microsleeps". I've cought myself doing that.

Yesterday it was bad. I got to sleep around 12:30. Woke up at 5:00AM. Drove 45 min to work. Worked 8.5 hours. Drove home (45min). Got my wife. Drove her to school (45min). Waited in the (very uncomfortable) truck for 2hrs. Drove back home (45min.)

And went to bed at 8:00. Got to sleep about 10:30. Woke up at 6:15 this morning. Now its 7:30 and I just got here at work.

Still sleepy, but I'm a lot better than yesterday.

did you nap while waiting the 2 hours?

Nope. I tried, but I had seat belt buckles digging into my ribs. For me to go to sleep, everything has to be perfect. I've never been able to sleep sitting up, or even leaning back in a chair.
