[OT/Humor] What's your "Holy Grail"?

"Listen, do you smell something?"

"Get her? That was your big plan?"

"Right, [slaps down visor] Charge!"

"Run away! Run away!"

"I'm not quite dead yet sir."

"It's only a flesh wound."

"Listen up you primitive screwheads. This is my bang stick!"

"Come get some."

"Give me some sugar baby."

"KLAATU, BARATA, nmnmrmmnl"

"Spoon!"

"Not in the Face! Not in the Face!"

"Have fun storming the castle"
Just testing out this "quick reply" thing...

This is only a test. Return to normal programming.

We must be old. We only do Monty Python and original series Star Wars quotes generally.

Maybe you yell "Message for you, Sir!" every time you get hit by an arrow.
If someone did that EVERY time a character got hit with an arrow, half of our group would go postal on the guy. It's far more fun when the quote is unexpected. We've gaming together so long we've worn out a lot of the typical ones.

Careful now....misquoting the legendary Bruce Campbell around here could get you in a lot of trouble, methinks...it's "boomstick".

Gah! you are right. My mistake.

My shame knows no limits.

and now for something completely obscure... ;)

whenever someone looks at me and says, "You're kidding," my natural response is "I must be, the Bahamas are islands."

There are a lot of MST3K quotes around the table, like calling all the fighters "Biff Hardbody." Dwarves are constantly the butt of jokes since LotR ("Toss me"). I ususally set up an encounter with an annoying townsperson that shouts "And your mother smelt of elderberries!!!" Army of Darkness lines are quite common when playing in a game that has firearms. Simpons lines are common. At least once a session I tell someone to "suck on a railroad spike" in my best Stewey voice from Family Guy. Then there's at least one person saying after a particularly luck roll "Inconceivable!!!"

And then the entire party drives off in your bitchin' Camaro!

Our group is all 30-ish, and most of us have kids, so we don't have a lot of time to delve into all these obscure internet references. So, if I said something like "Do you have stairs in your house? Please go stand by the stairs." no one would get that (except for a friend of mine I just invited to come play with us). So, it would be wasted.

I seem to recall some old sitcom references, popular culture stuff. Star Wars probably has been quoted on several occasions. "Screw you guys.." from South Park. Simpsons references. "You bastard!", of course. Various and sundry movie references. We don't quote the movies so much as make fun of particular scenes, or reference particular scenes.

There are obligitory Holy Grail references, those are always popular. Maybe we're not very creative. I don't know. I've never really paid attention.

Oh, I just remembered one that we used last session. From Naked Gun, the "Nothing to see here" reference. God, I love those movies.

A lot of classics have been mentioned already, but here's some MST3K lines from my own experience.

From the Movie:
* "Let's see. . . Shatner, Shatner, Shatner--nope. He's not in this one. We're safe."
* "G.I. Joe action set--Nerdy Joe not included."
* "Da da da da da da! It's the Brak show, starring me I'm Brak! It's the Brak show, & I've got lots of good guests! Da da da dut da da da . . ."
* "Whoa, the Howells' hut is really nice!"
* "They're hickory curing them."
* "Place your hands over the bars. Now they're magnetized."--"And if your hands were made out of metal, that would mean something."
* "Mike broke the Hubble! Mike broke the Hubble!"
* "Whoa! I didn't expect this!"
* "Oh, well, look at that, 'Breach Hull--All Die!' Even had it underlined!"

From TV episodes:
* "Trumpy, NO!"
* "Watch out for snakes!"
* "Mitchell!"
* "Whoa, Torgo's been hittin' the ThighMaster."

And, of course, there are new, a few recent quotes from that net phenomenon known as Strongbad:
* "Trogdor!"
* (person making techno music sounds) "The system is down!"

That's jut a few (that I can remember currently).
