(ot) OSU-michigan week

I dont think the OSU defense could stand up to the Hawkeyes attack right now. JMHO. They(Iowa) are having their best season EVER and there is not a weakness in any of their units: offense, defense, or special teams. The only near weakness is Iowa's secondary, which has given up alot of yards this season due to the fact the Hawkeyes are usually up big on their opponents early. This translates into less rushing (which is why Iowa is #1 in the Big Ten in Rushing Defense and one of the toughest in the entire nation) and more passing as teams try to play catch-up. But when they need a big play, their defense has come up big this year.

That being said, I think the deciding factor in a potential game of this magnitude would be the locale, but Iowa has been just as deadly on the road this year as at home (witness: Iowa at the Big House stomping Michigan earlier this season).

You know what, as an Iowa fan, I think maybe the BCS should arrange an Iowa-OSU matchup, but the odds of that happening are slim. Oh well, we will just have to settle for at least a share of the Big Ten Championship and a trip to the Rose Bowl. Maybe its time for the Big Ten to join everyone else in the nation and have divisions and a title game??? Nah!!

I'm with Cyragnome...except that I don't root for injuries ;).

Being a Spartan, I just can't bring myself to root for the Weasels -- ever! However, this year I find myself facing a unique dilemma. If OSU wins this Saturday, then they'll go to the Fiesta Bowl and get crushed by Miami, thereby embarassing the Big Ten. That's bad. If they lose, then logically Michigan has won, which is also bad. Sooooo, I'll root for a tie which would result in the following:
** Buckeye fans and Weasel fans alike are frustrated.
** Washington State likely goes to the Fiesta Bowl for an entertaining and unlikely showdown (see probable thrashing)with the 'Canes.
** Iowa goes to the Rose Bowl, which is fitting since they are the best team in the Big Ten, playing the best football in the country right now...as much as that pains me to admit.

And hopefully my Spartans make a return trip to the Final Four, since we are evidently a basketball school for the time being :D.

OSU's defense is too good get crushed by anyone; Miami might be able to beat them 21-7 or thereabouts, but it won't be a blowout. But in a neutral site with a likely pro-OSU crowd[1], I think the Buckeyes should have a shot.

[1] In any game outside of Florida, you'll probably get more Ohio State fans than Miami fans; Ohio State is a much bigger university, and there's greater incentive to leave Ohio in late December/early January.[2]

[2] Of course, I'm one of the insane people who leaves southern California for Ohio over Christmas. I wish my parents would move out here :)

First, we defeat those dreaded Wolverines. It will be a close game: OSU 17 Mich 10

Then, assuming Miami can win it's last three, which is by know means a gaurenteed thing, we will show them what a good team is. :D

Haven't seen OSU enough this year to argue over their tough D, but a road game won't mean anything to Miami. They thrive on the road, in hostile stadiums (see last game vs. Tennessee for just the latest example).

It's a lock. BUT... if Miami is going to trip up at all (which they won't), it will be tomorrow night against Pitt. Win that game, and it's cruise control to a second straight championship.

The only real question left is which Cane will take home the Heisman?
