(ot) OSU-michigan week

Haven't seen OSU enough this year to argue over their tough D, but a road game won't mean anything to Miami. They thrive on the road, in hostile stadiums (see last game vs. Tennessee for just the latest example).

Wasn't Ruetgers on the road as well? Miami has a great team, they just don't always look it.

It's a lock. BUT... if Miami is going to trip up at all (which they won't), it will be tomorrow night against Pitt. Win that game, and it's cruise control to a second straight championship.

The only real question left is which Cane will take home the Heisman?

No such thing as a lock in college football.

Right now the Hiesman should go to Brad Banks of Iowa. He's playing better then anyone in the contry and has for quite a while. Texas Tech QB also has a great chance if he can win at Oklahoma and in the Big 12 title game. My other choice would be Gesser from Washington State, he plays tough.

OSU can win out as long as Miami and Washington State both fall. Then when the Sooners wake up and sweep the rest of the season it will be an OU-OSU national championship. Of course I would also love an OU-Miami naitonal championship. Just got to make sure the secondary is awake for the next few games.

obCalifornian: You mean who will get the Heisman instead of one of the Pac-10 quarterbacks who deserves it, right?

Unless Miami gets upset, I expect Dorsey to win the Heisman. When things are muddled, the quarterback of the #1 ranked team usually ends up winning the Heisman.

But he's not the best quarterback on a top-10 team this year -- that's Carson Palmer or Jason Gesser. And McGahee isn't the best running back this year -- that's either Larry Johnson or Chris Brown.

It's not always the QB from the #1 team. Wienke won it in 2000 over Huepel. Wienke was from the #2 FSU and Huepel from the #1 Sooners. Sometimes they just feel sorry for the 30 year old QB you flops in the NFL. We proved who was better that year anyway.

And last year what's his name from Nebraska won it, even though they lost their last two games. Harrington got robbed last year, and I imagine the Pac 10 will be upset with this years results as well.

Quickbeam, Cyragnome you're forgetting there are no more ties. Plus it would be much better if they both lost.

It's not forgetfulness, it's wishful thinking ;).

Either way, Buckeye fans needn't worry because Cooper isn't the coach anymore. How that guy kept his job for a decade while constantly losing to Michigan is beyond me!! I believe the Big ten should adopt a new rule -- you CANNOT go to the Rose Bowl unless you've beaten Michigan...teams that don't play them in a given year are exempt.

Actually, even Earl Bruce and the beloved Woddy Hayes had trouble beating Michigian. I think the record is 56 (Michigian wins)-36 (Ohio State Wins) -6 (Ties)
