D&D 5E (2024) Pact of the Chain + Nick Mastery

Those dont replace an attack they are things you make an attack with.

This is not true, you have this completely backward. Acid, Alchemists fire, Net, and Oil all let you "replace" one of your attacks. From the PHB page 222-227:

"you can replace one of your attacks with throwing a vial of Acid"

"you can replace one of your attacks with throwing a flask of Alchemist’s Fire."

"you can replace one of your attacks with throwing a flask of Holy Water."

" you can replace one of your attacks with throwing a Net."

"you can replace one of your attacks with throwing an Oil flask."

On the other hand Pact of the Chain does NOT let you "replace" an attack, it actually says you can "forgo" an attack.

Forgo: omit or decline to take (something pleasant or valuable)

So if I am going with this interpretation you can "forgo" an attack you are not entitled to take in the first place because it is not attack with a "different Light Weapon".

The specific Chain wording clearly supercedes the general rule. It allows you to replace an attack made as part of the attack action. Your secondary attack from Nick+Light is an attack made as part of the attack action. Therefore it works.

To be specific it allows you to "forgo" an attack, not "replace an attack.

Further the nick property only comes into play "When you make the extra attack of the Light property" (PHB p. 214)

If you don't "make the extra attack of the Light property" then you can't use nick at all.

It says you can forgo one of your own attacks is the wording op posted.

you can't "forgo" an attack you don't have the option to make in the first place. Nick is specific - in only applies when you make the extra attack of the light weapon property.

The term "when" in the description of Nick is extremely significant in this discussion; you can't Nick at all if you don't make that attack. If you don't make the extra attack using the light weapon property (i.e. you "forgo" that attack) then you don't get to use nick.

Im aware the terms irrelevant.

Nick turns the bonus action atrack into attack action yes or no?

Any attack as part of the attack action can be turned into pet attack yes or no?
I would have to say “no” to that. Nick turns a bonus action attack with an off hand weapon into part of an attack action. If you don’t use it to attack with an off hand weapon Nick does nothing.
