Level Up (A5E) Parrying property versus ranged attacks

I'm a huge fan of the new parrying property mechanic - it's a a surprisingly close match for the defense homebrew that we use. However, is the intention that it can be used against ranged attacks? It is limited to a creature you can see but melee attack is not called out. I'm good with adepts deflecting bullets out the air but maybe not everyone with a scythe?

Yup! Final wording will be "When you are wielding this weapon and you are not using a shield, once before your next turn you can gain an expertise die to your AC against a single melee attack made against you by a creature you can see."
