Part 1: The Forgotten Forge (Knight Otu judging) [Concluded]

"At least one of us will survive, then, right? It's better than none. Let's make sure the book is safe before meeting with them. We can't know their motives for sure, but we can know that they were spying on us and that this book is involved deep enough in intrigue for someone to be killed. If it weren't for those facts, I would agree with you, but knowing what we do, it is only prudent. Heck, remember the flying sphere that got away? It would have had enough time to report to its allies who we are and that one of us went with the guards by the time you finished talking with them--that could be why the dark figure took until then to meet up with you."

"I think we should take the book with. If they knew enough to find us, then they can probably locate the book, so it's far safer with us togeather than with anyone alone," Stulgar says. "However, it's also the best lead we have. I say we go there tomorow and see."

"OK, I don't really care, but if they spies us, they could even know where we put teh book and take it while we are at the meeting... and in group, we are stronger, so let's go together..." Kharas take another sip in his mug. "But I must tell you something, it doesn't worth to die for a book. I talk by experience."

"Oh, I agree. If it's surrender the book or die, of course we surrender the book. But that isn't the offer our friend the provost received. More likely, if they're the ones who sent the assassin, they'll kill us to keep it quiet. Regardless, I'll prepare my spells for battle tomorrow. We can bring the book if everyone would like, but in that case, if they are indeed the ones behind the assassination, our life hinges on whether or not we can best House Cannith's forces in combat. I hope for our sakes that we can."

Weapon shakes his head. "Mallan was Cannith. He told stories. I think they would be more likely to get the Watch on us than face the murkiness of covering up murder." Again, the scrapping metallic sigh. "But, Mallan may have been the one good Cannith for all I know. Meet here again tommorow and then to our possible dismantling?"

Ahki furrows his brow as he follows the convoulted plan. Finally he speaks up. "It is said that it is better to keep your treasures with you, so that if one comes to take them they must take your life as well. We keep the book and fight them if they try to take it away. Whether they offer us money or a battle, tomorrow will be a good day."

[sblock=OOC]As stated earlier, it is now the second half of my trip where I will be able to post 1/d until Weds. See ya![/sblock]

The night passes quietly for the most part, though lightning flashes occassionaly, the sounds of thunder place the storm out down the Hilt near the sea. By morning the rain has let up and you all awake in your beds in the Tower's Shard. Free accommodations sure beat anything you are used to in Sharn up to this point.

Heading down stairs you find Brews making breakfast for his night guests. As you had to be up pretty early for your meeting there are no other patrons yet seated for the morning meal.

Mordin informs the group that their House Cannith contact said to meet him at the Broken Anvil in the Mason's Tower.

Stulgar stretches a lot once he arives downstairs, grumbling about prefering the ground. Once he's grabed a quick breakfast, "Let us be going. Hopefully this will provide us with some answers."
