Part 1: The Forgotten Forge (Knight Otu judging) [Concluded]

"That works f'r me," Mordin says. "I'm not the quickest dwarf in the land - or the skinniest - but I can be quiet. If I spot locks or traps, then Kharas can take point and figger a way past it."

"Is everyone ready?"

"I...I'm coming," Siobhan agrees, distractedly, her eyes staring off as if looking somewhere else

'Siobhan, you fool...you've tainted the spirits' gift for evil. It may be both blessing and curse, but still...how empty it would be if your connection were revoked. And that's just what's going to happen if you don't get smart--and fast!'

'I know that! I really shouldn't be arguing with myself, you know. If they knew, they would really think I was insane, well, even more than they do. Even brother...'

'Brother will always believe you. You needn't worry for that...but that doesn't mean he'll always be on your side. He's not on it now, you know?'

'I know...It's his honour. I wish I could have said something openly to prevent him from pledging himself to the shadow, but I couldn't.'

'You couldn't because you were weak.'

'I know...I was afraid. I just wish there was something I could do.'

'You know that there is.'

'Yes, I know but...the Warforged...'

'He's watching you now...Siobhan...'

'He's always watching...I am lost...alone...'

Having left the Broken Anvil Inn and spent some time gathering information, the group is all set to travel down. The Dorasharn tower is one of the oldest towers in Sharn. It is in Tavick's Landing. The group takes a sky coach over to the tower and heads down one of the lifts to the middle section of the tower. Between the mid levels the tower's sewer system takes over, seperating the residents of the upper reaches from the sealed lower halls.

The tunnels and corridors at this level of the tower are narrow and dark. An occasional window slit looks out upon the crowded walls and foundations of other towers, and infrequently placed torches sputter here and there, giving off pallid pools of light and clouds of smoke. Even so, rough and dirty people crowd the narrow corridors, and the smell of sweat and sewage permeates the stale air.

One tunnel opens onto a larger chamber, where a mix of goblins, humans, and shifters gather around a small pile of garbage spread across three rotting blankets. One of the goblins shouts, "No Pushin! No pushin! There's always enough for everyone at the Rat's Market!"

Lady Elaydren's map is less specific about this far from the forgehold. The furthest point on the map is a sewage valve cluster called E-213. From her directions, the valve cluster should be somewhere on this level of the Dorasharn tower, but where?

*Siobhan looks at the shifters to see if she recognises any of them. Even just silently cataloguing what shifter type they all are will help her calm her nerves, at least she hopes so. She also glances over to see what the goblin is selling.*

Ahki's lip curls involuntarily at the sight of the goblin. Filthy creatures, like rodents that walk upright. It is a wonder that the beings of Sharn, indeed all of this land, allow such things to live. He sniffs the air and immediately regrets it as the stench of sewage and unwashed beings assault his nose. Walking towards the nearest non-goblinoid, he speaks to them. "You there, we're looking for a place down in this stinkhole. We want a guide."

Kharas looks at the market, and never having left his family before a few month ago, having worked in the rich mansion or shops that needed there skill, he had never the chance to see such picture. He whisers to Mordin. "Is the lower level always like that? It looks like a pity"

Weapon had been to pretty much all levels of Sharn; warforged desperate for work often looked wherever it could be found. He had seen many of these sorts of markets, and was very familiar with goblinoid businesses.

At Ahki's aggressive demands, Weapon sighed. Such intimidating tactics worked sometimes, but city goblins were more likely to bite back then their country kin. He said nothing however. His job was to find the schema, and to do that, he must protect his fellows. So he watched.
