Part 1: The Forgotten Forge (Knight Otu judging) [Concluded]

"I am a simple woman who lives by the will of the spirits, and so I do not have that many silvers, I am afraid. Could you possibly help us out of the goodness of your heart, or at least accept a lower price?"

(OOC: It is true that Siobhan does not have that many silvers)

Mordin moves over to Siobhan and the goblin, and with a low voice he rumbles. "100 silvers? Skakan, sure'n we can find someone who'll tell us for cheap."

He mentally calculates the breakdown as he looks over the rest of the group, and he offer a gap-toothed grin to the goblin. "How about we be offering you 5 gold now and 5 gold when we come back...and if no one follows us from here, 5 more gold for our good friend Skaken?"

(OOC: Uh, Gwyd--that's actually offering him significantly more than he asked, unless you plan on swindling him of the rest--can we pretend you didn't just offer him more? )

((OOC: 100 silvers = 10 gp. I consider an extra 5 gp a worthy investment to buy his silence in case anyone follows us. And if he betrays us... we're only out 5 gp.))

(OOC: Right, but the point is to bargain him down from 10 gold. I'll bet he would have gone lower since she's been nice to him, and the best way to buy silence is by making it seem like it isn't really important, not with 5 extra gold, which makes you suspicious and leads them to offer the knowledge to all comers for, say, 10 gold--let me know if Del is seriously doing that. Just so you know, I don't mind, but Siobhan is going to be extremely upset (She was actually hoping Del would come in and help bargain, but he's just come in and hindered it, plus alerting everyone to them by trying to pay off his silence) )

Ahki frowns at the loathesome creatures request for money, and the way his companions seem to be considering the offer. He can be bought, as a guide or a betrayer, telling others where we went. There's only one way to make sure our enemies don't track us. Leave no traces. The disgusted look is replaced by a smile as he views the goblin in a new light. We won't even have to pay him. They will object, these people of khorvaire are soft and weak. Let them. Better their simpering than a knife in the back from our pursuers. The world will be better off with one less monster in it.

Kharas look around and is not used to such poverty. At a moment, he turn his attention to Siobhan, who try to negotiate for a few gold. He stay silent, but doesn't see much the interest of negotiating for this little amount of gold.

Weapon, keeping a look around the area, glances back at the "bartering" going on behind him. Money comes and goes, and while it was useful for maintainence, the warforged found it caused more trouble than not. He never tried negotiating himself; he did not understand the nuances of humanoid discussion well enough to ever succeed. No, he was clearly designed to destroy things before they destroy himself. He could only every loose wars of words.

(OOC: Erekose, looks like that's it, so don't wait on my behalf--I just wanted to out of game point out something that could have been easily avoided. I'll do a reaction shot for Siobhan now)

*Siobhan glares in disbelief and walks off.*

'What was his problem?'

'He is obviously either an imbecile or else planning to kill or swindle the goblin.'

'If he tries, he will face the spirits' wrath, but I don't care for money one way or the other. I was just trying to be a part of this place so I don't have to feel like such an outsider.'

'Did you ever stop to think that maybe he doesn't want you as a part of this place?'
