Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder 2E's African-inspired Sourcebook

Paizo has announced Lost Omens: Mwangi Expanse for June 2021, a setting sourcebook which delves into an African-themed area of Golarion. At over 300 pages, the book also includes six new ancestries -- Anadi, Conrasu, Gnoll, Goloma, Grippli, and Shisk.

It will be followed by the Strength of Thousands adventure path, where you play students at the Magaambya magic academy in the Mwangi Expanse.

This sounds really interesting, although considering recent enhanced focus and sensitivity on matters of this nature I hope the book was very carefully compiled.

Just when I thought it was safe to stop purchasing more Pathfinder 2e, I must get this book too. Hopefully, this completes my purchase cycle. There is only as so much expendable income, after all.

Not to take anything away from this sourcebook and accompanying AP, but I wish they would produce something more typical for an Adventure Path than "you're running a circus," "you're a group of cops," "you're hosting a martial arts tournament," or "you're founding your own wizard college." Like, just give us a regular darned AP for PF2. Some of us haven't played every PF1 adventure path and some of my players would like more traditionally themed heroics. I'm afraid they're going to weird-ify the entire product line for PF2.

Paizo is coming out with a dungeon oriented AP as well. Maybe that will scratch the itch?

Looks interesting. I wonder if folks have thought about converting Tomb of Annihilation to take place in MWangi expanse?

Age of Ashes, the 1st AP is a traditional heroic story that has you travelling widely around the Inner Sea.
Abomination Vaults, an upcoming 3 Part AP is in the form of a Mega-dungeon. I would be surprised if there weren't sidequest opportunities.

The Fall of Plaguestone is a more traditional adventure for levels 1-4.
Troubles in Otari is expected to release in December and continues the adventures from the upcoming beginner's box. Ends at 4th Level.

It also wasn't mentioned that Strength of Thousands has you founding a school, but actually attending one that is apparently already well established. The whole wizard school concept is very popular after all. . .

Luckily for me, I just have to await The Mwangi Expanse and that should complete my Pathfinder investment.

Like I said early, there is a limit to how much can be collected without feeling like funding an addiction.

Yes, and I am running Age of Ashes currently. It is only a little strange due to the stronghold building information, but it is at least traditionally structured.
I guess what I was confusing with wizard school was that you become a professor, teach classes, etc., based on what I was reading.
I was running Age of Ashes and needed a 7-8th level sidequest, and there was nothing. I just want some extra drop in and go adventures for PF2.

Golarion is rapidly becoming my favourite campaign setting, so much diversity that so far still feels cohesive. I'm mega excited for this sourcebook
