[Petz] If you play Petz, you need to read this!

Piratecat

Sesquipedalian
I have noticed a whole lot of short, contentless posts in the last few days.

Gentlemen and ladies, the EN World rules about signal to noise and posting without any real content have NOT disappeared. You want more money for your account? Then please make substantive contributions in real threads! Go find someone's plot thread without enough responses and contribute, or weigh in on a neglected House Rules thread. The mechanic of Petz encourages you to post, but we have the opportunity to make that beneficial instead of simply annoying.

In addition, note that contributing sci-fi scoops gets you a whole lot more Petz money than posting does.

So please make sure that you don't generate lots of short responses like I've been seeing in this forum, or you might just see your Petz bank account and your post count getting brutally slashed by a stern but kindly administrator and his moderator secret overlords. We'll try to warn you first and give you a chance to change your eeeevil ways, but self-regulation is the way to go. If you notice someone who seems to be ignoring this request, feel free to point them to this thread. And then beat up their Petz.

Thanks,

Piratecat

The only exception to this guideline is Ao the Overkitty, who is going to have his bank account slashed anyways for having the temerity for beating up on poor little Piratecat Jr. Big bully. Sniff.

On the other hand, Petz is turned off so this thread is now totally invalid. Hmm. Unless it applies to the new RPG game! Yeah, that's it. If the game uses the same "post for cash" mechanic, then please keep this in mind.

Man, I should look before I post. :D

Waah!

First, I end up adopting someone's sickly, weak, dying cat, only to have it die without me noticing.

Next, I create Schrodinger, and attempt to gather enough money to actually do something with him (and managed to get my balance up to 45, from a start of 20... that shows you how often I post :) ). Now Schrodinger has run away.

Man, I hope the ASPCA doesn't hear about this. If I can't take care of a virtual cat, how am I supposed to be able to adopt a real cat?

On another note, the RPG thingee up there doesn't work...

Out of curiosity, will we get any credit for having built up our old petz or for the money we had saved in the new game? I'm glad it wasn't real money, 'cause I just had $3500 disappear

Sorry, no. 90% of it was earned by little more than spam, anyway; it would have been the easiest $3500 ever!

[Edit - sorry: I meant 90% of money general, not 90% of your money in particular, Snicht.]

Hey, I blame the questions game on AO :D

Actually, most of it was not earned by me - I had 4 non-CS's sending me all of their money :]

I can restart, but ya can't blame me for asking, can you?

It seemed like a good idea at the time.....

Umm.... sorry.....

Hmm, and he was my #1 sponsor. I can almost believe that - he'd be just the one devious enough to cook up a scheme like that. There's something rotten in Denmark, I tell ya

Yup, and it's in my frigde .. what it is you ask? .. hey, I don't dare to look :)

Besides the point of the Question game is to try to have a real conversation going using only questions.

I still think it's just as viable as the Hivemind if you don't mind my saying so.

It's just people didn't seem to get that whenever the conversation had run dry question-wise, you could always just answer the question before and ask another sending the whole conversation into a different direction.

The thread here wasn't so succesful in that area as similar threads had been on randomling's, but once the rules are understood it is basically just like any conversation here really. The only difference being that here swear words are generally disallowed (which they are in the question game too naturally) and in the game answers are generally disallowed.

Many didn't get those points the first time around, and some admins didn't get it either!
