Nah, now they can pick between UA and Leather prof. Makes it a choice rather than a no-brainer for cloth-wearing classes to pick it before leaving Heroic.
Also, we don't have the full text. It may not stack with the Avenger or Monk class features.
WotC have actually on their Customer Help Page. The only thing that isn't in the feat list is that it gives a +2 feat bonus to AC, so it won't stack with the (mainly Paragon tier) feats that also give feat AC bonuses.
Having it a feat bonus is a good start.
And Avengers get their AC back.
I wonder if they shouldn't have created a further bonus type.I wish they did that with a lot more feats!
I just had a look at the Compendium and noticed that the Paragon tier feats I was thinking of were all the armor specialization feats, which obviously won't be clashing with this one. So there really isn't much of a downside. And Avengers get their AC back.
Hell, it's a decent feat to take on a rogue: some of those cloth armors have some nice stuff.
I just had a mental image of a Rogue PC at a bigwig noble's ball dressed in expensive nobles' clothing (cloth armor) and still being well protected by his skills and training (unarmored agility).
Still, I hope it isn't too cheesy. I'm all for good options, just not another war over feat tax.
Whether this extra AC for clothies stacking for avengers is "woot" or not is really a question of perspective. Myself, I said "Woot" when errata clarrified Avenger AC and it got back to striker standard. When I saw this new feat, I said "Doh!"Woot!
