[PHB II] Two-Weapon Rend

The Two-Weapon Rend feat adds an additional +1d6 (+ 1.5 STR bonus) when you succeed at hitting with both weapons you wield. The feat requires a BAB of +11. This seems like too small of an amount of damage to make the feat worth taking. If the damage were increased to +2d6 do you think the feat would still be balanced?

Sorry i dont have my phb 2 on hand, does it work with multiple attacks? lets say you had multiple attacks with each hand, if you hit with both more than once do you keep doing rends?

It looks pretty nice to me, expecially for high str characters

It unfortunately is a dual wield feat, which is an expensive (featwise) specialty to pursue already, so mayhaps 2d6 wouldnt be so bad, big payoff for all them feat investments

I believe you are limited to one rend per round.

Two Weapon Pounce + Two Weapon Rend = Charge and deal damage for three attacks. That's pretty sweet IMHO. Niche, but sweet.

I think its a pretty nice feat as it. I'm always skeptical of straight up damage enhancing feats, as pretty much any of them are worth taking. This one seems to be no exception.

In this case, the question boils down to, "How often do I think I'll hit the same target twice in a round." If the answer to this is, "Most of the time." and you have even a mild strength bonus (say +2), this is nearly as good as Weapon Specialization. If the answer to the question is, "Just about all the time." and you have a fairly good strength bonus (say +4 or higher), the feat is probably better than Weapon Specialization.

By that level, a Str-focussed character may have a bonus of +4 to +6 (or even more). So, that 1.5 times the Str bonus is probably more significant than the 1d6 damage offered.

Of course, the feat is less useful for the Ranger/Rogue with high Dex and low Str, but I'm not sure that's a bad thing... this is just one more feat that really suits the dual-weilding Fighter.

One rend per opponent per round.

This used to be an epic feat. It was pants then. I think I did an analysis of it which got lost in the great crash. It depends on whether the target's DR applies seperately to the rending damage (which the text suggests but does not state). If you allow the rending damage to be cumulative, then the feat's not so bad, though I'd suggest making it require BAB +4 or so and dropping the Str Bonus damage. At BAB +11, I'd be looking for something more; after all, it requires two successful hits. As I mentioned, DR is a big issue: your damage is the same type as your off-hand weapon, which will be a light weapon, so Power Attack does not apply, unless you're using your fist.

We've got to be careful here though: making TWR too good actually nerfs the Monk.
