Philisophical Sayings of a Socialist Monk, help

Lord Ravinous

First Post
I'm gonna be starting a new campaign very soon and would like to come up with some phrases and parables for him to use.

To give you an idea of his belifes:

He belives that the purest, most perfect form of society is one in which everyone is equal, there would be no rich or poor, everyone would have shelter from the winds and rain, and everyone would contribute their share to the society as a whole, living in perfect harmony and tranquility with each other. In the initial stages of his society, a firm central government would be in place to distribute wealth evenly to the less fortunate, as time progresses the society would become so self sufficent that they would no longer need a central government. This is the peak of society.

He seeks diplomacy over violence, for he knows his art can be lethal if not kept in check.

He teaches tolerance of all belifes, even those that differ grossly from your own, until those belifes violate the rights of innocents, it is at this time that you make you stance on the subject know, and warn of the consequences of further action.

So, could you all give me any ideas, if I could get a link to Oriental Parables that'd be great, but any and all help is welcomed.

Thanks.

EDIT: Changed title from communist to socialist, more fitting in my opinion.

Never seen a communist monk before, but I have seen a communist druid. A friend of mine played one and eventually led an uprising and subsequent revolution.

You might want to take some inspiration from Da Man...Comrade Karl Marx.

Mainland China has a saying: "Beware the sugar-coated bullets of Capitalism."

Maybe you should change bullets to bolts, and capitalism to Feudalism...but that wouldn't make much sense :D

The following are really quotes but could work. Oh, this are just some tag lines I have saved, nothing more. :)

To succeed in the world it is not enough to be stupid, you must also be well-mannered.
--Voltaire [Francois-Marie Arouet] (1694 - 1778)

With fame I become more and more stupid, which of course is a very common phenomenon.
--Albert Einstein

If stupidity got us into this mess, then why can't it get us out?
--Will Rogers (1879-1935)

Only the wisest and stupidest of men never change.
--Confucius

Man is what he believes.
Anton Chekhov (1860 - 1904)

In the province of the mind, what one believes to be true either is true or becomes true.
John Lilly

I never cease being dumbfounded by the unbelievable things people believe.
Leo Rosten (1908 - )

Sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.
Lewis Carroll (1832 - 1898)

They were so strong in their beliefs that there came a time when it hardly mattered what exactly those beliefs were; they all fused into a single stubbornness.
Louise Erdrich

Remember that what you believe will depend very much on what you are.
Noah Porter (1811 - 1892)

Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.
Voltaire (1694 - 1778)

"All men were created free and equal!"

"Love of money is the root of all evil"

"Liberty without socialism is privilege, inequality; socialism without liberty is slavery."
Mikhail Bakunin, the father of Anarchism

"Hang Together!" or "Gung ho!"
Communist Chinese Battle cry.

“There will come a day when our Silence will be more powerful than the voices you are throttling today.”
-Haymarket Square Martyr’s Monument

If you want to find a historical context for your character, you only need to look back to the European heresies of the Middle Ages.

I believe the Albigensians and the Manacheans professed pseudo-syndicalist beliefs. The Anabaptists most certainly did.

If you want to hear more about any of the above groups I could whip out my history textbook.

I've never seen a communist monk, but I have seen a commie mutant traitor troubleshooter!*

Fun idea for a character.
