My friend Tom, so we could spar, swim, cook etc. We share a ton of interests and he's handy survival wise. My girlfriend, Mia as we share lots of interests too, and she's a bunch of fun.

I was working with the thought that I couldn't get off the island, otherwise I'd have brought my cousin and some large raft-like books. Tom and my cousin both canoe or have done...

Three people alone on an island just seems icky to me. Any way you go (2 female, 1 male; 2 male, 1 female; all 3 the same sex) you're going to end up with problems. I realize the purpose of these exercises is to have you prioritize what people/books/movies etc. are your absolute favorites and have the most repeat value, but if you take the exercise *seriously* it gets nutty really quickly.

I asked about trading because I don't know *anyone* I'd like to be stuck with on an island. Not one person. That's kind of sad. I know what *types* of people I'd like to have with me: a doctor that specializes in combat medicine, and someone that knows how to farm tropical plants. Ideally they'd be a couple so they could build their own cozy little love nest on the far side of the island, and I would devote myself to fishing and trade with them, maybe lend them my books and invite them over for movie/song night.

If that were the case, I'd let them pick the movies, music, and books, and I'd make up my own stories to tell them also, since that's pretty much my only valuable talent.

I don't know what 2 people I'd pick beyond "hot chick who loves me" and "big, beefy guy who likes to build stuff" (see book choices, below).

I don't know what music I'd pick- far too many choices, and besides, my brain is better than an i-Pod. Perhaps I could have a guitar instead?

For books, I'd pick:

1) "HERO 5Ed, Revised" (I'd be carving some dice)

2) "Kama Sutra" (Illustrated, of course)

3) "How to Build an Effective Mode of Transportation off of Any Island, Regardless of Available Tools & Materials...For Dummies" (Illustrated, of course)

Don't know about the books or the songs (frankly, I can't think of any song that wouldn't get boring after the first 10 times or so), but whoever else is on the island with me, it had better be someone that I could beat in a fair or unfair fight. If anyone is going to end up in the cooking pot, it isn't going to be me.

Actually, about the books: preferably something that would take me a long time to read (the Bible, the Complete Works of Geoffrey Chaucer, the Complete Wheel of Time In One Volume) and that is also published in a weatherproof edition.
