Pimp yer Story Hour here!

Dusk in the Land of Fading Stars

Anaroth is a land bereft of gods... where the only beacon of faith is a gleaming golden spire, reaching miles and miles into the sparsely starred sky.

A series of events forces a small group of wanderers onto the path of destiny, where by their actions the world will either be saved, or plunged forever into a shadowy realm of hopelessness and despair.

If you read the story hour and like it, pleast comment... story hour authors derive all of their motivation from the support of their readers.

Seravin's Tales of the Night Below

A story of the campaign I'm running of the old 2e adventure 'Night Below'.

It may start in a tavern but the man that comes to see the adventurers summons a plague of fiendish rats upon them.
Spellcasters are disappearing. Why? Their trail leads deep beneath the land into the realms of the Night Below.

The Praise:
Just wanted to leave a quick note to say that I am enjoying this SH. Your updates are written with a direct style and tempo, which I like. - Capellan

Another lurker chiming in to say that I'm enjoying your story hour. You've got the right mix of action, dialog, and descriptive detail. - RedShirtNo5

Usually I am in here for Blackdirge's NPC's but I have to say. Dude. Don't stop... - Bad_English

Through the Mirror, Darkly.

A Storyhour set in Midnight.

It has been one hundred years since the One Dark God extinguished all hope. Some still fight for freedom, for faith, for hatred, or because they have nothing left. He fights for a bellyfull of food and a quiverfull of arrows.

"The sound he had been, not dreading, but expecting with grim certainty. Heavy, dragging footsteps. Coel glided to his feet like a hunting cat, squeezing his bowstring taut. Ellionwy looked up sharply, her eyes glittering in the dim firelight. Coel took aim, and the branches parted at head height.

"Stepping into the circle of illumination, his face pale and bloodless, bruised and caked with dirt, Urlandt stared down with dead eyes. Urlandt, who had fallen to an oruk's blade not six hours ago."

What the critics have said -

"There is only one thing worse than Dirigible's story hour; and that is everything else." ~Oscar Wilde.

"It's short, I'll give it that." ~Leo Tolstoy.

"Once again, I am amazed how the Midnight campaign setting has inspired uniformly excellent story hours. Thanks, Dirigible; great work!" ~Derulbaskul (Debbie to his friends).

Read it now, or I swear to god the kitten dies.

The Borderlands/Gaxmoor/Necropolis Story Hour!http://www.enworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=28405

A story written by several different people, taking in events from the Gaxmoor module and just entering the Necropolis module. Come here for Gygaxian situations, big, big, fights, betrayal, death (lots of this) and a good fun time. Characters started around 8th level, are now up to about 11th-13th level.

Gary Gygax read this story hour, and claimed it almost tempted him to take a shot at D&D 3rd Edition!

WizarDru's Story Hour
Once upon a time, there was a DM. He had played D&D as a young lad, and loved it. But time had passed, new systems had replaced older ones and life became too busy to bother with such trifles. Then a company from the Pacific Northwest released a new, better version of the much-beloved game of his youth, but with more options, more concise rules and a love of the game that was infectious.

And so that DM summoned gamers to him, and LO! there was a game. This game was at first envisioned to be nothing more than a distraction, and so the DM planned to simply use the core modules that the game's developers provided. But Hark! A creative DM and enthusiastic players cannot by such things be constrained, and soon the story became too unique and involved for mere module to contain.

Three years and still running: WizarDru's Story Hour covers the adventures of a simple band of adventurers who journey to find a cure for a sick girl and eventually find themselves in the middle of a battle for the future of every living being in the Flanaess, and perhaps the entirety of the cosmos. Follow their journey from 1st to 21st level and beyond in a classic D&D game set in Greyhawk. Where else can you find:

 • A paladin with a Meepo the kobold as his squire?
 • Mechanical Eggs designed for destruction?
 • Undead Grandfathers with pretensions to Godhood?
 • Arcane Archers with iron hands and Shadowdancers involved in a secret war?
 • Githyanki Smackdowns?
 • Awakening Dead Gods and Imprisoned living ones?
 • Self-destructing mage guilds?
 • Epic assualts on a city by the legions of the undead, followed by the wrath of a Winterwight?
 • And lastly, the tastiest Druid to ever reincarnate being eaten whole almost weekly, with a strange propensity to put his tongue on inanimate objects?
Good times. Good Times.

(Oh, and don't miss the other stories linked below...they're awesome).

Instead of whoring my story hour, I'm going to whore all the ART that people have done for my story hour. Sneaky, eh? But the art is sooo good. :D

Piratecat's story hour: it's high level, it's got ghouls and politics galore, and it doesn't have any poison monkeys! Honest. But I'm working on it.

Cydra Story Hours

Agents of Chaos:http://www.enworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=34554 A haphazard collection of extremely powerful adventures, entangled in a great conflict between Law and Chaos! See the mighty powers of a large party of high-level adventurers as they deal with agents of Law, the horrendous Bile Mountain, and worse- Felenga! Watch as pcs fight to the death- against each other! Journey to the Plane of Time! Laugh at the odd humor! And then follow the story onward... To War Against Felenga!

Quote: "Uh, hey, there, Malford!" calls Lester. "Er, King Malford, I mean! Let me introduce everyone- this here's Horbin, he's a cleric of Dexter- you remember him, right, of course you do- let's see, this is Sybele, the red one's Angelfire, um, in the chain mail bikini is Sheva..." When he's finished giving the names of the group to the impassive gnome-king, he continues, "So, uh, how's it going?" He gives Malford a large grin.

"Okay," the King answers. There is caution evident in his tone.

"How much money do you need?" Drelvin calls sarcastically from behind his king.

To War Against Felenga!http://www.enworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=52739 The pcs from Agents of Chaos deal with all the enemies they've made, especially the overwhelmingly powerful Felenga! Yikes!

Quote:"Never use an 'and'," says Arion the Archmage. He's the most powerful wizard of Var, possibly of Dorhaus; he's pretty much in a class by himself. Of course, Orbius is getting closer and closer to his level all the time, but the Eye doesn't yet have any experience with things like wishes. Which, of course, is why he's asking for advice.

"Except," Arion adds, "at the end, you should always say, 'always and forever.'"

For something a little lower-level in flavor, check out Of Sound Mind the Halfing Wayhttp://www.enworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=65887, where a clan of halflings and their friends (an adopted human and a kobold "dog") deals with a town having strange nightmares and worse problems! Thanks to Piratecat for writing this fantastic adventure!! :D

Quote: "Well, isn't it about time we went back to Othic's?" ventures Trinia, and the group cleans off their plates and hurries off to dinner.

"Aw, I think we're going to miss supper," Ed mopes.

To War Against Felenga has links to the other story hours I've done, as well...
