Pimp yer Story Hour here!

Well, it's not my story hour, but it's a darn good one that I am a player in.

Medallions, a d20 Modern story hour.

Check it out if you haven't, OldDrewId is a fantastic writer.

I have two story hours, both not that long, that I first posted to quite a while ago:

"The Riley Chronicles" is the first. It is the personal writings of an arrogant meglomanic Gnome named Riley. He was the leader of an adventuring band of ALL Gnomes - and I found it an amusing character to play and it was fun to write about it. I would be curious to hear any feedback from those few souls who dared read it.

The other one is from a rather off-the wall concept, that I found fun to play, and hopefully won't offend anyone.

And now I have two.

Wild Stewardess Action on Planet Barsoom

Five butt-kicking women in the exotic land of Tianguo take on demons, kung-fu bad guys, zombies and dogs, seeking justice in the name of their Goddess.
"Something terrible has happened. Chow Siu-Keung is in danger. I beg you to help him. Help us all."

The Angels looked at each other. Wei-Yong shrugged.

"Yeah, that's our job."

Good clean fun. With stewardesses.

So, is that exotic land supposed to be related somehow to Barsoom? It's hard to tell from the story hour (although the title does clearly say on the planet Barsoom...)

Oh, yeah, I edited the introductory post to make that clear.

It DOES take place on Barsoom -- only in a different time and place than the main story hour. There will be some crossover, eventually, and at least one character will show up in both...

BotS is Back (again)

Byzantium on the Shannon III

As with many other gaming groups, it's often kinda' feast or famine with us, we get up a good head of steam when the bad old REAL WORLD steps in with a crotch shot...but we have not given up and our group has been playing for months now, so I thought I'd begin posting updates again. Huzzah!

Anyway, here's a link to our storyhour thread: Byzantium on the Shannon III.

We're using the current version of D&D, with (I assume) the usual number of rule zeros.

The game is set on Palaestra. It's a fantasy world with Byzantine overtones -- the story and the characters are very much caught up in a lot of cultural roleplaying. One unique thing about the game is that my players take turns writing up the adventures so you can see many different perspectives.

Thanks for a listen, I hope you enjoy.

Isn't Tianguo the setting for Dragonfist?
A biscuit for Gez!

Yeah, after reading Dragon Fist I just dropped the whole setting into a conveniently blank portion of my campaign setting, twisted the history to fit Barsoom's bleak and nasty view of human nature, added an assortment of unpleasant foulnesses and voila (French word meaning voila) -- the mysterious land known to outsiders as Lohan-El...

New Story Hour

Friends,

There is a new story hour worthy of your attention called Al-Qarin Chapter 1: Into the Desert .

I do not know the author, but his first installment is most excellent and deserves our support. You can get in on the ground floor as the first installment has only been posted yesterday!

Last time I pimped a guy in general this early was for somebody named Destan. ;)

Planescape/Star*Drive: Renaissance

Two parallel campaigns following the exploits of some less-than-heroic adventurers as powerful forces converge to bring their worlds together-- and tear them apart. Played using D&D 3.5 and d20 Modern.

A teaser is available at: http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?s=&postid=1655125#post1655125

Excerpts:

Ortac looked up from his half-eaten kitten. "So, what now?"

Dagger shrugged. "My plan was to kill them all."

Dagan shook his head again; he always found Dagger's bloodlust a little disturbing. "We can use them later."

Dagger frowned and shot him a piercing look. "I don't like using stupid things."

"You two sure are nosy. Somebody oughtta teach ya to mind--" Before he could finish his sentence, two small holes appeared in his chest; as quickly as he had thought about it, Zero had drawn one of his pistols and fired.

The skycar's driver fired the ignition switch again, trying to escape. "Holy--" And, just as fast, Zero's other pistol appeared in his hand and fired. The driver slumped over the controls of the skycar, which had just started and was now idling.

Rex was furious. "What the hell, Zero!? We're on a half-mafia, half-backwater planet and you just start killing people?" He started slapping the side of his head for emphasis. "****ing reprogram, man!"
