Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I generally try to get at least seven and a half hours. But quite often it ends up being six, or even five, or four. I know from experience that I can generally go for four or five days on four hours of sleep before I hit the wall, but I've never actually discovered my real hardline limit, which kind of worries me.
I'm an inertia kind of guy - I have a hell of a time getting going in the morning, but once I am, I'll just chug along at whatever speed is required all day long until I just fall over dead. Which usually means I have a hard time unwinding and stopping at the end of the day.

My inability to go at all on less than 4 hours of sleep (let alone pull an all nighter) anymore is really clashing with my penchant for procrastination!

(I can do 6 for a day or two in a row, but otherwise need 7 or 8 now).

While I do enjoy it, I’ve never been one for sleep. I did a temp job at Texas Instruments for a little over a month on 3hrs/night, but my average sleep time as an adult is between 4-6 hours. Currently, I’m trying to push towards the longer side of that historical range.

This lack of sleeping goes back to infancy. When asked by my pediatrician about my sleeping habits as an infant, my parents boasted that they finally got me to sleep through the night. They estimated I was getting 8hrs/day. Except infants are supposed to sleep whenever they’re not feeding or being interacted with- 20hrs/day or so.

Nobody told ME though.🤷🏾‍♂️

Regular sleep is a fantasy for me. 6-7 inconsistent is the best I can hope for.

I used to use Sat/Sun to recover from sleep debt, but with my son moved back home, and my wife's condition, I'm running on caffeine, permanently.

So, my IT hosed me and has ruined the rest of my month. Going to be a good one.

My body needs about 8-9 hours. I usually get roughly 7 (which isn't too bad). On nights where I get 6 or less, I definitely feel it.
I typically get between 6 and 6.5 hours of sleep, with several wake-ups for various reasons. Occasionally I'll get between 5-6 hours. I run fine on that for 3-4 weeks and then one Saturday or Sunday I'll fall asleep an hour or hour and a half early and sleep two and a half hours longer than normal. Then I'm good to go for another 3-4 weeks like that.
