The amount of naughty word AI suggestions on a new install of windows/office is out of control.

No, I don't need copilot, or clipboard suggestions.

Whoever thought this was a good idea, I don't hope for good things for you, a pity you are likely a millionaire.

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

And no, I cannot turn it off, thanks IT.

I'm guessing they turned off your personalization options And you can't access registry.

In Settings> Personalization > Taskbar, you can turn off Copilot. However, if that's not enough and you wan to disable it completely, you will need to do this in registry.

To do so, launch Registry Editor, then go to

HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows

On the left, right click on the Windows folder, go to New > Key, name it "WindowsCopilot"

Then select WindowsCopilot, on the right, right click and create a DWORD value, name it "TurnOffWindowsCopilot" and set its value at 1.

Restart the computer to have the change take effect.

If that doesn't can't be done then try:

Group Policy Method (Advanced)

  1. Press Windows + R > type gpedit.msc and hit Enter
  2. Navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Copilot
  3. Turn off Windows Copilot > Chose the enabled option (confusingly to "enable" the disable).
