Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Did you know that you can now pre-order the new incoming flavor of Mountain Dew: Baja Blast: Tropical Lime for delivery right to your door, the first day that it's available to the public?

When I was much younger I remember folks attending midnight releases parties in stores for things like albums and video games. I guess this is the modern equivalent?
so...i did it..i have offically pre-ordered a soda...
I think that'll go down in history as one of the single most tone-deaf ads ever. Yes, people absolutely 100% would download a car if they could. Are you kidding? Hell, give it a little more time and 3D printers just might make it possible.

It's impossible to design a game with a referee that protects you from the referee just like it's impossible to design a game that is immune to players making intentionally bad faith interpretations of rules. Once the industry stops guarding against problem players and groups simply stop playing with them the hobby will be able to evolve beyond absurdly bloated books with precise rules for everything.

Except, the industry started without those guards, and it didn't evolve that way.

Evolution is not directed. You cannot predict what way it will go. Maybe you'll get a glorious eagle, or maybe you'll get a dodo.

Games are designed, not evolved. And folks designed those protections because there were, in fact, problem players (and GMs).
