My one remainder hasn't done anything to suggest my original reasons for putting them on there aren't still valid.
If you have just one person on Ignore, they probably need to stay there...

Yeah, that was mostly my conclusion. I can occasionally pick them out from the responses to them in threads, and nothing there has suggested my initial impression was incorrect.

I believe the Ignore was mutual, so I'm unlikely to see their posts. And this way, my conscience is clean!

I’ve got 2 maybe 3 and everytime I decide to take them off as a reset they end up back on in short order.
I can handle folks who often seem abrupt, repetitive, rude, and/or strident, or who rarely provide things that provoke me to think, or who are often on the other side of the discussions that have sides... but at some point being all three just makes me not want to be here when I have to keep seeing their posts.
So I temporarily put a poster on it if they are making a thread I am interested in too painful. If I have had to do that multiple times they are likely to stay there until I have forgotten anything about their usual posting habits. Eight are in that state at the moment.
