Funny how often someone who's "just asking questions" is so rarely looking for actual answers.

Today I encountered three separate usages of “Oh, are we not allowed to criticize X?” on three separate forums, by people being. Rude and aggressive. It seems like the answer to that question 99% of the times “Sure, but your style and thoughts are also up for criticism.” Or, alternatively, a silent killfiling.

Me being me, I'd rather more bluntly answer "Yes, and we're allowed to tell you you're being a jerk in how you do it." But then, as my wife says, I'm rarely passive-aggressive.

There's a story about how Buddha had this guy coming at him all the time with questions, just going on and on over and over.

The Buddha then responded with only a smile and silence. Until eventually the guy got it, and became his disciple.

Paraphrasing and likely wrong in some parts, but yes, people who ask questions all the time, rarely want an answer.

I think it's even funnier when someone makes a statement based on 'feels' and when asked to substantiate that statement, like with facts and stuff, they resort to this tired old chestnut.

Tried to watch Old Guard 2 last night and...woof! I wish I was watching Highlander 2 instead.

Yeah... I got through about 20 minutes. I might finish it if I can't find a burnt stick to jab into my eye instead.
