Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Holy crap. I find their food to be inedible.

Their drinks are amazing, but their food feels like they're actually a front for selling drugs under the counter or something.
To be fair, I don't eat a lot of fast-food burgers. Maybe once every 2-3 years?

We're spoiled for choice here in Portland, with all the food carts on every corner. Fast food here is on a whole other level.

What? Me? LIE??? I would never!

85% of what I write is guaranteed to be 63% true.

At least half the time.

Am I the only one?
Nope. There’s LOTS of iconic pop culture that I’ve barely or NEVER experienced. GoT is one. The Sopranos and Friends are others.

There’s many and varied reasons for why I don’t opt in on these, but I’d be lying by omission if I didn’t cop to having a strong contrarian streak that is often a factor. I first recognized this about me as a freshman in a preppy private HS, when I utterly refused buying into the brand/logo-centric clothes culture of my fellow students. I later discerned other manifestations in other aspects of my life.

For me, Sonic Drive-In is the best fast food burger joint, and all others tie for last place.
I like Sonic. Not my fave, but good.

One knock against eating THERE (as opposed to takeaways) is the way too many Texans go there and eat with the windows up and their cars idling to run the AC. If- like me- you’re going to sit there with the windows down and enjoy your meal in the shade on a summer’s day, roasting (AS GOD INTENDED!), you get a side order of exhaust fumes & additional heat from your fellow diners.

Another note about Sonic: they USED to have a respectable assortment of “mini”* hot dogs, including a good take on a Chicago. They don’t anymore. (Corny dogs are still available.) And good luck finding hot dogs in Texas that aren’t some version of plain or a chili or chili cheese dog.

Edit: they DO make a decent giant soft pretzel. (I usually eschew the cheese sauce and just ask for mustard.)

Not worth it's own thread.

I recently watched a show that was ... well, it was such a great concept that I have to recommend it.

Interior Chinatown on Hulu. I had some critical notes (there were a few things it could have done better) but overall? The parts of overall brilliance more than made up for the parts they could have improved. Also? While the "meta" part is what sells the show, it's also got a really important, and much more relevant, theme running through it.

Highly recommend.
This title makes me think of a home design show hosted by Kurt Russell and James Hong, which, I'm not gonna lie, I would watch the hell out of

In college I frequently wore clothing from another college, where many of my friends went, at my college. The contrarian streak is a shared resource.

I never went THAT hard; I was just…anti logo. My parents probably privately rejoiced that their son wasn’t attempting to keep up with the Joneses by asking for Polo, Izod, Nike, Gucci, etc. like his classmates, but instead preferred unmarked store brands, Seiko & Reeboks.

That said, part of that was about fit and aesthetic preferences, and I’d be lying by omission again if I didn’t admit to owning some Izod & Polo today. (And I do have some team and band logo merch.)

But I still don’t really chase status by what I wear.
