Cannot wait for this month to end.

Question for any Canadians on the thread: I'm noticing that a lot of US posters seem to have their fingers on the pulse of/visit at a high frequency fast food joints. I almost never go into them... the few times I did over the last 15 years or so was a couple of times a year because the kids wanted a Happy Meal or similar. And when I did go in, the customer base was 90-95% teenagers.

These are just anecdotal observations of course... not enough juice to say something ridiculous like 'Americans eat more fast food than Canadians'. But is this just one Canadian's observation? How often do other Canadians eat at McDonald's, Harvey's, KFC, Pizza Hut, Domino's, etc.?

Popeye's Chicken once a week, like clockwork, every Thursday. I usually make myself a couple of burgers on Fridays but if I'm not in the mood to do it myself then I'll drive right past the Wendy's that's a 5 minute walk away, to hit a Harvey's that's maybe 5Km away. Other than that maybe once a month I'll swing by Thai Express, Taco Bell, or Subway. On a 3 pay month I might order a dinner for 3, from Mandarin, and then turn that into maybe 4 meals.

I'm not sure if everyone else is like this, but I've noticed something about myself.

The more hype I hear from my friends and neighbors about something, the more likely I am to try it--but only to a point. Past a certain point, I mentally check out and all the positive mentions in all the world won't bring me back. Even if I'm initially intrigued by it (the Game of Thrones TV series, for example) and it contains numerous elements that I like (dragons, magic, swords, court intrigue, Emilia Clarke), my interest will only handle so many people telling me how great it is. It's not a very high number either--it's like, twelve.

Same here - anything that gets really overhyped to the point where I know nearly as much about it as a regular fan would is basically forever going to be a "yeah, maybe later"-if-at-all thing. I started watching GoT about the time the fifth season came out because I found a cheap copy of the first season at the Goodwill. I have no particular desire to ever watch Dr. Who, because despite having only ever watched about three or four episodes in my entire life, I could probably list at least five of the doctors and about the same number of companions...

Even if I do actually end up liking something people push me to watch, it doesn't take a hell of a lot of pushing before there's a good chance that I'll end up watching it with their severed head sitting beside me.
