I know it's done to get free promotion for Kickstarter projects, but boasting that your RPG product has a bunch of YouTubers contributing to it isn't really the guarantee of quality you're acting like it is.

Oh, I know. I just watched a video where someone was boasting that a new product had a dozen different YouTubers contributing to it, and I just kept thinking, "yes, but about half of those people are idiots."No but there is a correlation to money if they are successful youtubers!
Far too many people seem to have no respect for the time of others. I tend to get where I say that I'm going at least 10 minutes early.Little bit annoyed right now... When you say you're going to be somewhere, especially when you say you'll be there as soon as you can, you show up, or at least call/text/whatever to explain why you can't make it...![]()

I can think of one publisher I used to back every project they had, but then they decided to embrace clickbait BS and started having contributions from YouTubers who make nothing but ragebait BS. I'm a firm believer in voting with my money, so they haven't gotten any of mine since and probably never will again. There's plenty of things in this world to get angry about these days, I don't need someone trying to rile me up about the latest made up scandal in a hobby based on make-believe elves.I know it's done to get free promotion for Kickstarter projects, but boasting that your RPG product has a bunch of YouTubers contributing to it isn't really the guarantee of quality you're acting like it is.
Keep an eye open. Sometimes, when that happens, you'll find that one or more of the creatives, that were originally involved, split off to pursue projects more like their original vision.I can think of one publisher I used to back every project they had, but then they decided to embrace clickbait BS and started having contributions from YouTubers who make nothing but ragebait BS. On the plus side it's made it a lot easier to just stop backing stuff altogether since the current tariff situation already has me wondering how the things I've already backed are going to turn out.
