Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I normally go to the speed limit. Very often I find myself being tailgated by a truck -and it is almost always a luxury truck or SUV- and when I move out of the way, they accelerate to 80 or over 90 mph. (The upper limit in the city is 50) Really, some people have a cause, some just want to see the world burn, and some just don't give a damn...

Anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac.

Double the speed limit isn't a maniac?

My wife and I now have our car insurance tracking our speed and driving for a discount. It does save money. But there is a major road here that is set at 40 mph where the flow of traffic is 55 mph. We get dinged there, but we'd be causing problems otherwise.
This is a good system now, but I worry where it's going to ultimately lead. It seems a short step to insurance companies making this kind of tracking mandatory and dynamically raising rates on consumers or dropping them entirely without warning.

This concern is a large part of why we don't use this tech.

If you're going exactly the speed limit in the passing lane and don't realize you need to move out of the way until you're being tailgated, I fear you may be the problem in this scenario.

I have a big V8 truck and I drive the limit mostly for reasons of mpg. There are a lot of stupid, bad drivers out there anyways, nothing will make a difference.
