Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

In the case of Facebook the medium and the echo chamber of "friends" is the 'mask.'

Sure, people's vies can evolve, but it's a different thing when the person will flip a mental switch on their behaviour simply because, in one situation, they are in danger of being fed their teeth if they behave in the same manner as they do when anonymous.
I'm more of the idea that it is less that anonymity in internet is a mask that emboldness the darkest parts of the human soul, and more that the actual distance makes it easier to see the interlocutors as less real, less worthy and all around less human.

My favorite bathroom stall graffiti was in the men's room of Shattuck Hall, on PSU campus. Someone had written,
"WHY GO OUT FOR BOLOGNA SANDWICHES WHEN YOU CAN HAVE STEAK AT HOME"
and below that, someone had added,
"...AGAIN."

Another gem:

In the restroom across the hall from the Hydraulics Lab (also on PSU campus), someone had written,
WHEN YOU'RE GOING THROUGH HELL, KEEP GOING
and someone else had revised it in red marker:
WHEN YOU'RE GOING THROUGH HELL, KEEP GOING ASSUME STEADY STATE.

Our ability to fail to see people as people IS the darkest part of the human soul...
