Anyway, until Claude can beat pokemon in a few hours I'm doubtful the management jobs will be replaced.
The work most managers do is a lot simpler than playing Pokemon.

In most of the jobs I've had in my adult life, the managers were seat fillers on a org chart and often had a hazy understanding of the jobs the people they were managing were doing. Software to monitor productivity has been around for decades and it's a job AI is already sliding into. In my field, middle manager job openings are almost gone already.

I once knew a young woman going to college. She was studying to be a project manager, which I didn't know was something you could get a degree in. She complained about the computer courses she had to take. Her argument was "I don't need to know how to do your job. I just need to how to tell you to do it." I thought "Yep, that sounds like a manager." She was young and attractive, whatever she's doing now she's probably very successful at it whether she's good at it or not.

Middle Managers, and Project Managers imo have a very short time left.

A report here, an agent there, tools for meetings, rip and process the transcript...done.

I hope so. But AI can, in theory, have all the degrees.
I think I have longer than my wife. I am in healthcare…but in time we are all hosed. I think I will have the decade I need to retire…after that all bets are off.

I think they will have fewer doctors spread over even larger areas with AI taking the diagnostic work and more nurses for hands on. Already telemedicine is there…but AI will have its say before long and big impact.

I have no idea where it’s going. Entry level clerks programmers and others I just dunno and I don’t like it.
