Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Anyway, until Claude can beat pokemon in a few hours I'm doubtful the management jobs will be replaced. And even then--they are as much about knowing people than knowing things. I'd feel more confident in the trades that you will be doing the same type of thing in 20 years. But in the knowledge fields, as your skills become automated you can take advantage of automation to have more of an impact.
The only thing keeping management jobs from being replaced is the fact that the people in them have power.

AI can already talk with confidence about things it has no real knowledge of, it can argue one position one day and the opposite position the next day, and it famously has no soul. Those are all the qualities of successful leaders, whether in management or politics

If they are putting the Magician’s Nephew first (the worst news I have heard in a year of bad news- at least in terms of how it hurts my soul), then why don’t they put the Horse and His Boy second since it technically takes place before Prince Caspian.

The book sets that put The Magician's Nephew first generally put The Horse and His Boy as the third book in the series since it's after The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe but before Prince Caspian.

And I don't like it put in that slot any more than I like The Magician's Nephew first.

The news just gets worse and worse. I thought I had a gotcha, but the deplorables that understand nothing win again. 😢

I was trying to see if Greta Gerwig has ever talked about why she chose that one to adapt first and because google is not helpful now, I couldn't find anything about that. I did learn the movie will be set in the 1950s though which uh...is also a choice.

I'm not sure if this is better or worse, but the reordering was basically a scam to put out a new edition of all the books that allow a grifter who's attached himself to the estate to get a cut of the new version, citing something an elderly Lewis said once in a letter about what order he'd recommend people read the books.

Narnia starts to hit the public domain in 2046, so I'd expect a flurry of the estate (and the people currently running it) trying to extract maximum value from it before then.

Still, if we all survive the next 20 years, I think we can look forward to new editions of the books putting them back in publication order. I wouldn't mind a gorgeous set of books emulating the first editions, similar to the great Books of Wonder versions of the Oz novels.

I am all over a nice hardcover edition or set of the six books in the original order!
