What is toxic positivity?

I am positive that all this gin might be toxic?

Naw.

Immediate neighbor has a heavy duty fan that blows it out of HIS house, into MINE, and the people behind me, with our respective yards between us, it comes wafting in at all hours. Its just wild at this point, and I cannot wait to move.

Someone wants to partake in a setting that doesnt impact anyone else? Go nuts, I dont care. Once you are leaving a haze behind you that is going into everyone else's houses? Please stumble into traffic.
The rules in our townhouse complex are that any "partaking" is to occur in your own unit. These degenerates don't care. At one point one of them was living in his dead minivan that was perpetually parked in our visitors parking spaces, with an extension cord running the 50 feet into their unit.

Yeesh. Yeah. I can see that.

But I’m not sure I’d call that toxic positivity.
IMO, Toxic positivity’s usually someone who doesn’t really see or is impacted by the negative impacts of whatever the subject is trying to convince someone who is impacted that they’re blowing it out of proportion.

I should probably mention I was just using this term loosely as a contrast to the toxic negative fandom people were raising as a concern. It was a very informal label. There is a real concept of toxic positivity in mental health, but it pertains more taking optimism to an extreme where you are actively avoiding negative emotions that may be necessary to deal with.
