True story.
College class. It was about semiotics and rhetoric. The topic was to take a song and to really deconstruct it. Students were to present their papers at the professor's house.
All the students were going, and it went about how you would expect. And then, of course a student presented on ... Sir Mix-A-Lot.
And he started with the usual- what it really represented. How it signified aspects of modern culture, etc. And then he finally said, "But after all of that, I think that he just really really likes big butts. Sometimes you take the author of the text at their word, and Sir Mix-a-Lot isn't an unreliable narrator. When he says he cannot lie, he is being truthful. Guy just loves the big butts."
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, and sometimes an ode to fulsome posteriors is exactly that.
