Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

You know I was only aiming for a new coke joke, and grabbed that gif. In my mind, it was the Ray Charles ad, but I had the wrooooong one baby.

New coke was genuinely not good. It did well in one sip taste tests but try drinking a whole can

The only thing I remember from my dream last night is, just before I woke up, I was saying, "People are complicated. Like, take Jesus for example. He hung out with prostitutes and thieves. But he also helped a rich man's camel pass through the eye of a needle, so we centenary the good things he did and try to forget that 'hanging out with prostitutes and thieves' thing with empathy."

Now I really want to remember the rest of it, because I can't figure out how I ended up saying that.

The only thing I recall is I was a monkey being attacked by venomous snakes

"How can you still disagree with me? I explained everything so carefully. I guess I'll explain it again, do try to pay attention this time okay?"

Though sometimes its just confusion, sometimes you have to go "I don't agree with the premise, so I don't agree with the conclusion." Sometimes that works (at least to the point people conclude trying to convince you further is a waste of time), sometimes it evokes a pretty hefty dose of outrage (which at least tells you trying to talk to them any further is a waste of time).

(Sometimes, of course, the person will back up and try to address why you don't agree with the premise, which may or may not be tiresome, but it at least shows some movement is possible).

Sort-of. It was always vulnerable to confirmation bias and related problems, but it seems to have been eroded by various 21st Century developments that don't seem to be slowing down.
Most people are not very good at critical thinking, not an insult, just the way they are. I am not sure it is any better or worse, sure the cynic in me says everything is worse now, however that is unlikely to be true.
